Qadira Faction Goals Status Report

Paizo Employee

Fellow Entrepreneur,

Even as I set this pen to parchment, the coffers of Qadiran traders swell with the heady lucre of well-orchestrated plans. The agents of Qadira have opened many routes through the rough terrain of Varisia, and the cities show their appreciation with gold. Our efforts in Varisia have paid off many times what we invested, and I have you to thank for your diligent work abroad.

Janderhoff, once an inaccessible prize, has opened its doors to our traders. While I have stressed Qadira itself in my dealings with the city’s leadership, it is not the glory of the Padishah Empire that impresses the dwarves but rather our merchants’ keen business sense. Likewise, from the upstanding shopkeeps of Magnimar to the lowliest smugglers of Riddleport, the might of a distant nation carries less weight than a well-equipped caravan bearing exotic treasures. It is just as well that they underestimate Qadira’s power, and we shall continue to maneuver our way to greater influence.

In addition we may have the opportunity to exploit one more windfall: more reliable passage through the Hao Jin tapestry. I have on good information that the tapestry may soon allow access not only from Absalom to Varisia but to countless other markets across Golarion.

Despite our recent acquisitions and prospective advantages, we must not grow complacent and lazy; our competitors enjoy their own advantages, and they will overtake us if we celebrate for too long. Also, should the Lissalans succeed at restoring the slumbering runelord to power, our new trade contracts shall fall apart in the turmoil that follows. Cooperate with your fellow Pathfinders to ensure that the cult does not realize its goals.

To our shared fortunes,
Trade-Prince Aakir al’Hakam

Trade Prince Aakir

I have enjoyed the good fortune and the coin of the Qadiran nation for some time now. I have supported your causes and helped to extend the trade routes of Qadiran traders. I have learnt the merchant's trade and while it is strange to me, it is now a part of me.

I have seen and travelled through the tapestry and if there is more to be learned from it then I will help. Stopping Lissalans at the point of my axe is something that comes naturally to my Ulfen blood. My loyal friend Howlfur will tear their bodies to shreds when he finds them.

My time assisting Qadira in the Pathfinder society has made me a rich man. My good fortune ensures my loyalty in any Qadiran matters.

My Prince,

I trust by now that you have received the bill of goods related to the efforts I have put forth on your behalf recently. There was definitely monkey business afoot and some of the deliveries have indeed gone awry.

I had a golden time at Junia's wake, as well you know, for I saw you there, and although I made a fool of myself at the banquet and danced the Masque Macabre, in the end a full account was given of my travels.

I await with unbated breath for your instructions on how to proceed.

Your humble servant,

Jimbo Juggins,

Juggler Extraordinaire

The Exchange

A courier arrives with a gift-wrapped box of cookies for the Prince.

The elaborate Andoran calligraphy on the box lid says "Hollow Tree" in large letters with the smaller legend "Dwarf Bread" below. Beneath that, in fine print, "Product of Verulan".

A note is attached. It reads, in Common with a rather twisted Cant,

"My Prince,

Having a fey time in the woods. Wish you were here.

The ham was butchered and almost roasted before we arrived, but after a few tense moments the local lumberjacks appreciated the invitation to join our party.

Yours truly,

Jimbo Juggins

Lord of Leaping, Emir of Evasion, and Slayer of Serpents

P.S. The cookies are esteemed for their stone-like consistency and durability. Bon appetit."

The Exchange

Your Eminence,

I send you greetings and tidings of prosperity for the Qadira cause from the markets of Kaer Maga.

The man you asked about was no longer living in the City of Strangers, but no one can besmirch his reputation for fair dealing and honest trading.

As I have been to considerable pains on your behalf, I am relying on your beneficence to recompense me for the expenses that I have incurred here.

Your humble servant,

Jimbo Juggins

The Exchange

A parcel arrives, with a letter addressed

To the Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri,

I bring you tidings from the shadowed lodges and tall doored archways of Kaer Maga. I have learned feats of ledgerdomain involving the juggling of sharp implements that will astound you when I next have the honor to perform for your eminence.

I am currently planning a tour of Varsia utilizing some excellent references supplied by the Chelaxians. I have sent you a copy, and encourage you to remember that the beauty of a thing lies beneath the surface.

Your Humble Servant,
Jimbo Juggins,

Finder of Folios and Boss of the Bis Rats

Inside the parcel is a snake skin bound volume of

Cordelias Guide to Influencing Varisia's Fledgling Aristocracy

Realizing that this work is of Taldorian origin, and not Chelaxian at all, the Pasha seeks for the beauty that lies more than skin deep, and finds a carefully folded map hidden beneath the leather covering of the book.

The Exchange

I found some of our old foes hiding in Varisia. I didn't get to put any arrows into Lissalan scum, but my shots still found their mark. May fortune favor the ruthless.

The Exchange

To Trade Prince Aaqir al'Hakam,

I send you tidings of great joy from Riddleport. Investigating the family connections that you suggested was most fruitful, and I have sent you news of the missing girl's latest travels to aid you in your navigation.

Jimbo Juggins,

The Juggler

Silver Crusade

a slime covered druid walks into the room, wrings some of the slime out of his cloak into a vase, and holds out a parchment

A pair of barbarians shuffle into the audience hall of the Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri's opulent palace in Absalom. They are bowed under the weight of a large roll of woven cloth. A rug or a tapestry form the look of it.

Silently, they lower their burned to the floor before the Pasha's feet, untie their bundle and kick the roll to unspread it on the floor.

From the centermost roll of the brilliantly colored tapestry leaps a dimnutive figure: a red-haired halfing in a grey-green cloak, wearing a green top hat. As he leaps to his feet, he doffs his hat and bows low before the Pasha

"Fresh from the Throne of the Thakur of Jalmeray, I bring you, the one, the only, Jimbo Juggins, the Juggler!"

He executes a perfect back flip to the center of the tapestry

"The Thakur sends his appreciation for your eminence's foresight in sending such an able performer as myself.

He bows again, hat extended to the side. He snaps the hat sharply to his head, and waves his arms in a circle, pointing to the tapestry.

"The mighty Zamir sends his regrets that he will not be able to join us, but has sent you this magnificent tapestry as a parting gift."

He stops turning in place and glances nervously towards the druid. He clears his throat and in a high-pitched voice, says quietly, but succinctly,

"Don't tread on me tapestry."

The Exchange

A letter arrives addressed to Prince Aaqir al'Hakam

Greeting and Felicitations My Prince!

It is unfortunate that your instructions for my visit to Dtang Ma did not meet your expectations of the outcome, as I have fulfilled your instructions, but have not achieved the result you desired.

Follow the crest to the other side and you may yet find the connection you seek.

Your humble servant,

Jimbo Juggins
Follower of Fools and Fool of Followers

As he refolds the missive, the Prince notices the coat of arms of one of the Kirin clans of Tien Xia sketched on the top third of the back of the page.

The Exchange

A halfiing courier arrives, bearing what appears at first to be a small bundle of oddments wrapped in rags and twine.

Panting heavily, he delivers the package to Prince Aaqir, holding his hand out for his tip. The Prince tosses two bits of of silver, and the halfling leaves as quickly as he arrived.

Attached to the package is a brief note:

Plenty more where this came from.

Roustabout in Riddleport

After removing several layers of cloth padding, Aaqir finds a belt pouch filled with salt. He drops the pouch suddenly, and thrusts his instantly frost-bit fingers into the warmth of his mouth.

The salt spills onto the floor and two frozen halibut steaks slide out of the pouch. Aaqir, always quick to grasp the obvious, and often too quick to grasp things he shouldn't, realizes this substance will be a boon for shipping perishable cargoes for the Qadira.

The Exchange

To My Dearest Friend and Benefactor,
Pasha Muhlia Al-Jakri

I met your old friend Grandmaster Torch the other day.
I did not tell him that I knew you, but instead asked him about his sainted mother, whom he says will be gracing our city with her fair presence next Tuesday.
She will be arriving at Dock 42, if you should wish to pay your respects.

On an another note, I located the beetles that you asked about, and have secured you an egg for your examination. The eggs are very fragile, and the adult beetles thrive in damp environments. I am told they are related to miner beetles, and in my estimation they would make inferior pack animals.

A less than limber or lively Halfling clad in grey-green garments limps ever so slightly across the ornate marble floor.

"I would have come sooner, your Grace, but I took ill of a fever from which I have only just recovered."

"We have secured the Low Road and the dragons are as friendly as ever they were. It was, as you said, a most unnecessary mission, but profitable nonetheless.

He sits down on a fluffy ottoman at the Prince's table and pours himself a cup of strong black tea.

Emir of Entreprenuers,

Greetings! and Salutations from your humble servant, Jimbo Juggins.

I have recently returned from a successful tour of Goka in Tian Xia.

In the shadow of the orchard, I got bit a head of myself. I do believe that your request to see the ladies visage yourself was unwarranted. Is my word not good enough?

I have opened the road to Riddleport for our endeavors, and find my skills have suitably enhanced by my associations both here and there.

Looking forward to many more successful enterprises.

Yours faithfully,

Jimbo Juggins
