Figurine of Wondrous Power and Items Worn

Has there ever been any kind of official ruling on this? If you give an animal that comes from a Figurine of Wondrous Power (such as a bronze griffon) an item to wear (barding, some sort of collar that acts as a ring of protection, whatever) does that item stay with the creature when it turns back into the Figurine or does it drop to the ground next to the Figurine?

Thanks!

Bump, as I couldn't find an answer anywhere else.

I don't see any reason why the worn item should transform with the creature. Am I missing something?

Using flesh to stone as the closest analogue I could find, I'd rule that the creature's gear is also transformed along with the item. This is only my interpretation, of course--there's no hard ruling on this subject.
