Cleric with Whimsy (PFS)

Advice

Hi All,
I am going to be joining a regular PFS group soon and they have requested that I play a healer. The following is my variation of the "Reach Cleric" build (link), focusing on positive Channel Energy instead of Summoning. I understand that Summoning is a more optimized option but I don't like the bookkeeping aspect of summoned creatures and the GM is new to Pathfinder so I don't want to make things too challenging for him.

Thought Process:

Mechanically, this is a CN Human Cleric of Cayden Cailean with the Whimsy (from Chaos) and Ferocity (from Strength) subdomains. During my turn, the cleric will focus on healing and buffing the party like a good little Healbot. Then, when the enemies act, he will be taking his AoOs to dish out some serious damage (w/ Ferocity) and providing needed crowd control. After combat, he will use Whimsy to heal his allies (Whimsical Channel) as he drinks from his tankard holy symbol, a celebration of a job well done.

RP-wise, this character is somewhat based off of Graintaire from "Les Miserables" in that the cleric is a lazy revolutionary and member of the Andoran Faction. He has "a religious commitment to be non-committal" as he would much rather spend time at the tavern gambling than to get into harm's way by going out on an adventure. He also doesn't much care for the troubles of the world, except where freedom is at stake. However, when his responsibility is standing, often bluntly, in front of him, he meets it head on without question and finds courage from within. He likes to get out of trouble by arguing that Cayden Cailean "told me to do it" by speaking to him through the ripples in his mug

Build:

CN Human Cleric
Domains = Whimsy (Chaos), Ferocity (Strength)

Str = 16 (5/+2)
Dex = 14 (5)
Con = 13 (3)
Int = 10 (0)
Wis = 14 (5)
Cha = 12 (2)

Traits: Reactionary, Iron Liver

Feats: Combat Reflexes, Extra Channeling

Skills: Diplomacy +5, Know Religion +4, Profession (Gambler) +6

Questions:

1 - Are there any better traits for this build?

2 - Is there a better feat than Extra Channeling I can take at 1st level?

All other comments are appreciated,

Thanks!

I.like this character idea a lot. Selective channeling is a good feat at first level. It lets you heal when there are living enemies around. To take it, swap con or dex for char. I would do dex, bexause it more fun to be a charismatic cleric than a dexterous one, even if you are very slightly less effective at combat. Besides, this cleric is about being able to carouse, gamble, and drink. You don't need dex for those things.

I wouldn't want to sacrifice dex for cha. The build is too dependant upon combat reflexes for that. And, with enlarge person, id be giving up the effects of combat reflexes for the duration of the spell.

However, I could switch con and cha for selective channeling. However, how useful is selective channeling with only a +1 cha mod?

Also, if I give up Extra Channel, I would have Whimsical Channeling 5/day but only be able to Channel Energy 4/day.

Thoughts?

There is no actual deity choices that allow the Whimsy subdomain just because a deity grants the chaos domain does not immediately give access to the whimsy subdomain

Currently as far as I am aware there is no legal source citing any deity as granting this domain meaning its only available to separatist clerics

Well, this doesn't make any sense to me at all. It is obviously something that was passed by in the editing process. But, I know that the rule of RAW is the rule of the land when it comes to organized play. RP wise, the Whimsy subdomain is at the core of this character, so, Separatist cleric here I come. It seems ironic that my character would be a separatist to qualify for a subdomain of a domain which the god embodies, but, that's the way the cookie crumbles.

Fortunately, being a separatist cleric will allow me to RP my character with more nihilistic and apathetic behaviors - which is much more in line with the cleric's inspiration - Grantaire from "Les Mis". This character is becoming a paradox - a cleric that is too lazy to serve his god and doesn't believe in anything. I like!

Unfortunately, taking separatist means that the extra damage from Ferocity won't be increased to +2 until I am level 4. This seems like a waste to me, so, I'd like to pick another domain. I'm thinking the Revolution subdomain (from Liberation) because it falls inline with the theme of the character and the remove X spells are nice to have on hand.

Also, my GM has voiced a concern about his view of the over-powered-ness of "wielding a two-handed weapon and casting spells" thing. While this method of casting is fully legal and endorsed by the designers, he still isn't too happy about it. So, I would like to appease him a bit to make things run smoothly between him and I at the table. Is there a way to tone the power of this cleric down slightly without eliminating the character's intended functionality and theme?
