Last night I hosted a party for area RPG Supertar past contestants and Paizo authors. We read through the encounters discussing the virtues and misteps of each.

You might recognize Todd Stewart, Mike Welham, Sam Polak, and myself.

Now you go host a RPG Superstar party and playtest these encounters!

Steve, you may need to adjust some sort of security/privacy setting - I can't see the pics, but get a google 403 error page.

But it sounds like fun.

Which type of alcohol was consumed?

There. Finally I found the right setting - I think.

Thanks for posting this. It's nice to finally place a face to the twisted madness. What were some of your thoughts on the encounters?

Nice!
Are there only two pics? if so are the names in the same order as the pic?

I spent most of my time playing host and chatting with fellow writers. We made it through all the encounters and had plenty of discussion, but I'll have to read through them again at my own pace before making any permanent statements.

Only two photos - at least until the wife downloads the ones from her camera. Names are in order from the left of the picture to the right. (You met me at Paizo CON two years ago. I was one of the two Hellknights you GMed for.

Hah! I dinnae recognize you without the spikey armor!

I am really glad you remember the Sarkorian Prophecy*. I still joke that my very first PFS GM stint and they stick me with two VOs!

or really worried. Still, good or bad, memorable is the important part right :). On a side note, my local PFS is finally reaching semi-regular status, and I GMed at PaizoCon last year. Mid-march I will finally get my first star :)

This was a heck of a good time. It was really nice getting to know other industry folks in the area, especially those who I previously only knew by message board aliases or from reading/editing their work (in fact, Steve and Joe were the only attendees I had actually met in person before last night).

Looking forward to doing it again next year - and I'll be glad to host so Steve and his wife don't have to do all the work! (Except the cake part - no way I could pull that off!) Thanks so much for having us over!

And Cheapy, I can't speak for anyone else, but Gentleman's Jack was my DOC for the evening. Glad I took a half day today!

I had a really great time, and it was good to finally put faces to names and messageboard handles. :)

Sadly I could not partake of the cake (type I diabetes), but it was nifty regardless. But I was bad and had a single shot of the Gentleman's Jack. If I ever host anything at my place, the booze will be rather expanded since while as a diabetic I rarely drink, I make sure that when I do, it's damn good stuff and I've got a cabinet of really good stuff at this point.

TanithT and I enjoyed chatting with everyone, going over the various superstar encounters, and generally geeking out. I will say however, that I'm utterly, utterly jealous of that game room.

And Richard, thanks for being awesomely and amusingly honest when I asked about editing my one project yet to be announced from JBE. :)

Ha! I hope I didn't come across as harsh, because that surely was not my intention. You ARE a walking thesaurus, though - it's the first time I've had to consult a dictionary multiple times during an editorial pass and found that the author actually used every circumspect word properly in context! *insert Inigo Montoya quote here*

Todd's writing is fantastic - this upcoming product features some stellar intro fiction, along with a few mechanical and thematic concepts that made my jaw drop when I read them in anticipation of using them in my own games. And as I said - or, at least, I hope I said it - I don't mind working hard on a project when the end result is going to be something really good. =]

It was great to meet everybody! I wish I could have stayed longer, but toddlers must have their bedtimes.

It was great meeting everyone, and special thanks to Steve and his wife for hosting the party. I hope to see everyone again soon.
