Familiars delivering touch spells

So quick question: Familiars gain the ability
"Deliver Touch Spells (Su): If the master is 3rd level or higher, a familiar can deliver touch spells for him. If the master and the familiar are in contact at the time the master casts a touch spell, he can designate his familiar as the “toucher.” The familiar can then deliver the touch spell just as the master would. As usual, if the master casts another spell before the touch is delivered, the touch spell dissipates."

If a familiar is delivering a spell like Vampiric Touch via this ability, does the familiar gain the temporary hit points, or its master? My assumption would be that the master gains the benefits since the familiar is delivering the spell for him, but I wanted to make sure I was reading that right.

I would assume the master since it is still the master's spell. The Familiar is just delivering it.

My thought as well. Would there be any way for the familiar to benefit from a spell like Vampiric Touch (other than using a wand of it)?

I believe there may be some stuff in the psionics books (see Vitalist and Battle Medic specifically), but if those aren't allowed in your games I'm not aware of anything.

I'd say the spellcaster, since that would cause problems if the familiar somehow gained caster levels(ie, beast bonded witch inhabiting their familiar)

Has this ever been clarified? How do people generally handle delivering touch spells that affect the caster?

I'm thinking of two specific cases for my (6th level) Mesmerist:

Eyeball delivers Stricken Heart, bad guy takes 2d6 damage and is Staggered. I active Painful Stare, which adds +3 damage, but adds another 2d6 if the Mesmerist is dealing the damage. Am I dealing the damage, or is my familiar?

Eyeball delivers Lesser Object Possession. Who is inhabiting the object, me or my familiar?
