If what happens in Amalgram Comics is so significant, where are they today? If you like popular votes, go watch Survivor and American Idol! I'm sure everyone that won deserved too. Right? Yeah right. Bazinga!

You're using it wrong...

Jack Burton?

Petey Wheatstraw kicked Jack Burton's ass in middleschool. He's not even in the top 10.

Gangnam Style, Party Rock Anthem, and/or Harlem Shake? NO ONE CAN ESCAPE THIS TRIO!!!!!!111!!!111!!!!!!1ONE1!!!

Well,
Conan number 1.
Kirk number 2.
Lobo number 3.

I figured out who number 4 is.

But I'm not gonna tell you all.
Your infernal barrage of deliberate obtuseness tires me, and you deserve to not know as punishment.

Death's Head, yes?

Spanky,

You proposed a question that is in all honesty ridiculous. You are talking about fictional Characters that are only powerful because their creator say so.

I'm still not going to tell you.

Yeah... Considering the fact that you couldn't even have figured it out without your own bias interfering... I don't give a Damn. So F*** you Miss Daisy.

There were a lot of characters in the 90's who are ridiculous in retrospect, Lobo being one of them. Lobo is fairly two-dimensional and his sporadic usage by DC validates that, at least to me. Besides, he's friends with Aquaman and Guy Gardner. That just screams C-lister. At least, Amalgam didn't have him hanging around Speedball and Sleepwalker.

You wouldn't like it much. I'd just lie there.

The whole f$*+ing nineties was ridiculous in retrospect......
Rob Liefeld was its Zeitgeist with a pencil.

I can't believe somebody lost their s+~~ over this thread.

It's so "obvious troll...." somebody really rolled a 1 here.

I think it was the 90's that caused me to stop collecting comics. Though I will say that the Vertigo line was at its best back then.

Edit: And I'm not talking about Sandman. Never read it. The f'in wannabe goth kids carrying it around made it seem too pretentious, though I heard it was good.

No I rolled a natural 20. I didn't lose my cool. It is more of seeing the ranking on multiple blogs then reading it here. I couldn't help but quote that. It doesn't help that I am running on... 2 Hours of sleep?

You know Conan, Kirk, and Lobo are all 1-Dimensional or 2-Dimensional at best...

Rob Liefeld.

Conan and Kirk had the benefit of appearing in multiple media which helped flesh out their characters.

Really? So Kirk was something more than a Playboy Idiot who happened to get lucky in any situation he was in?

Well, gotta close this thread now.

I guess the next one will be
"Who would win: Apokalips, or Yosemite Sam with the Infinty Gauntlet? And,....what is Yosemite Sam's Alignment?"

At Azaelas, you dropped an "F" bomb on me.

I have no other recourse but to stick my fingers in my ears and say "ELELELELELELELEL!" whenever you talk now.

Seeing as, I'm like, following the forum rules and all that jazz.

It is a quote...(Link NSFW)

I think that'll do it. Spanky, post 'Bacon!' 65 times and we'll call it a night :)

I never bought no Sandmans, but I read some; I liked them til they made Thor out to be a goofus.

Thor's pretty cool.
Not as tuff as Lobo though.

He's top 20-30 somewhere, behind Petey Wheatstraw at least.

Missing the point of the Lobo character, people. He is a satirical jab at Superman. Similar background that diverged. Last survivors of their planets. Then Lobo is the polar opposite of Big Blue. Superman clean cut and respectful of others. Lobo scruffy, drunk, and violent with little regard for mealy anyone. The parallels go on

Even Stan Lee really likes Lobo. Lobo was never meant to be taken seriously like Watchmen and the like. He's meant to be funny and tongue in cheek satire of Superman and hero like him.

But,.....the main man,.....serious business,......

I still think Hulk would pound Lobo into paste, but the Nerd Rage in this thread is so delicious. Also, Yes Spanky, very serious business.

Toss Savage Dragon in the mix...just 'cause people were bringing up Liefeld.

1) The other guy was right. You're using Bazinga wrong ...

2) Where are they today? Still in a comic book I'd guess ...

3) It's still tasty.

4) It doesn't matter anyway. I think it was Stan Lee (but maybe someone else) that always said "The guy the writer needed to win would win"

Yes, this thread is an obvious troll doing his internet thing ... but I always viewed it at least somewhat as them pitting two SOMEWHAT even people together (power or ability wise or whatever) and let the fans vote. It's why you had the hulk going against superman (might as well had been doomsday vs superman) as well as other such fights.

The match ups weren't so one sided as to pit say Wolverine against Magneto (Wolverine 75/X-men 25 kind of solved that one ... )

All that said ... I actually don't care that he did win or would lose next time or whatever. I just dislike Lobo. He's boring.

When Nexus was done with that chump Lobo, there wouldn't even be blood left to regenerate his sorry ass.

Wow! You ppl are unbelievable! 1) Lobo is a more than a match for many. 2) is funny as can be 3) not getting enough love on this thread 4) Really like to irritate the haters apparently and finally 5) I used " bazinga" like that on purpose to take the edge off my relevant and biting commentary.

Btw, counting in posts are pretentious. Google it if u don't know what it means. Lol

Nexus can regenerate from blood now? What is he in the power of the month club, like circa 1955 Superman?

If Lobo was to become the serious character with the focus of Batman, DC Universe would tremble!

Liberty's Edge

The tremble would be because of the universal yawn.

... cause he's still boring.

Misery MUST love company. Cause I have to keep responding. Seriously, what are you reading that is so thrilling? You know, not "boring"?

Actually, Grue is so oblivious, Lobo has used him to destroy multiple planets.

Grand Lodge

Ponies.

I vaguely remember him being taken to his knees by a Waitress who kicked him in the Dangle-y Bits...

Darlene the waitress! Of course. She's Lobo's "kryptonite" if anything is.

Fine if were swinging for the fences, The Living Tribunal smokes pretty much everyone (Lobo, Hulk, Supes, whoever). End of story. Argument over. Save for The One Above All. Which is supreme in all things. So pack up your nerd rage and go home people lol. /thread

Liberty's Edge

Don't worry, it's not just Lobo and in fact, my issue is more with the archetype than it is personal. Wolverine gets a past with the gruff loner thing because not only was he my favorite x-men and my first comic to buy, but also because he's at his very core a solid dude. He's a good guy and a hero. A VIOLENT one sure but that's fine by me.

If I want a neutral-ish hero I'll stick with characters like Geralt of Rivia or Spike Spiegal. They're personalities do it better.

Deadpool comics can be hilarious but I can only take so much of him either.

I like hero types. I used to like some of these "super awesome, I'll do what I want WHATEVER!!" types but now ... it's not selling well with me anymore.

And in case it's not clear (and if it hasn't been, I accept full responsibility for poor wording, etc etc) this is all my OPINION. I don't like Lobo but despite smiling about the wolverine thing sometimes, deep down I'm glad he's got a fan-base.

When a creator puts work into a character and that work is accepted and appreciated (even in a smaller following like he has) then I find that nice. After all, maybe Lobo will inspire someone someday to make a character I DO like and thus, Lobo did something good by my standards.

Speaking of Geralt though ... yeah I'm going to go back and play some Witcher 2. Best Jedi ever ...

If you see him, ask him if he's still mad that Lobo stole his neck.

Squirrel Girl

I bet Darkseid, armed with Squirrel Girl, could beat Thanatos with the Infinity Gauntlet.
