Thread locking?

Are there posted rules about what gets you locked out of a thread? I just had my post deleted and my ability to post to it locked(My own thread, at that).

I had not thrown any names or insults, and I was endeavoring to remain on topic. Did I break an unspoken rule? No message was sent about it, it was just done, quietly.

This is probably in the wrong place. I am uncertain where this post belongs. You are more than welcome to move it to its proper resting place.

This is not an attempt to pick a fight or point fingers.

If you're speaking regarding the Tiefling thread, Mike Brock locked it and gave his reasons in his last post.

I had replied before any locking. He deleted the post.

FAQ contains some basic rules.

I'm happy to report I don't see any rules I have trampled, which is good.

Though it also says they can remove any post whenever they wish, so it could just be that simple.

You get used to it.

To be fair, it contains one rule. Which is entirely subjective. Don't be a jerk.

Every rule is subjective, so ... *shrugs*

"Don't be a jerk" rule should be obvious for about 90% of cases, when it isn't then the experience of the moderation staff takes care of it.

Nuku, I don't think you were a jerk per se, but it was pretty obvious that the thread was going nowhere. Your own valid opinion (because all opinion 's are valid) was listened too, however it did not seem you were listening to the opinions of others when they offered valid counter -arguments, nor did it matter when someone official responded. Further posts on that forum would lead to nowhere, thus it was locked.
