Based on the wording a Light spell on the weapon would work to give it +1 damage and its good enough from me :)
Even better than light is reinforce armaments. It's a first-level cleric spell, lasts hours/level, and you can have more than one up at a time. Just hand it out to all your party members at the start of the day, and it's +1 damage for everybody's melee weapons! The actual effect of the spell is just gravy.
Or continual flame for the permanent duration, and style points.

Reinforce Armements only lasts 10 mins/lvl. If you're looking for long lasting first level spells, Ant Haul lasts 2 hours per level.

Weird. I could have sworn it was hours/level last time I looked at it. But ant haul doesn't affect your weapon, so that doesn't work.

Ah, I guess that is a prereq for the thread is centered about. I didn't read it that closely..

I'd rule NO on spell trigger items. You must actually cast the spell. Some great spells for this trait (which Magda actually has) are: Greater magic Weapon (the ultimate), Weapon of Awe (gives +3 damage, works best on a bow), and Magic Weapon.
Personally, I'd not allow the Light orison to trigger this trait, but only because I'm a curmudgeon.
