I'll think about it. I have a few characters sitting around that might do well in this kind of pvp environment.

Wow, Arenas are popping up everywhere...

There is no out of bounds except teleporting out of the arena. So a fear spell won't end the fight just send you running around to by time.

Wow. 32pt buy? Any race? So we'll have a bunch of MoMF (Crane Style) / Zen Archers, and a whole bunch of Svifneblin.

What's the rule on pre-buffing, and are the rules written down anywhere for easy reference?

Posted in youtube.

10,500 gp starting wealth?
Crafting feats?
Who decides what combat takes place in what style of arena?
Deadline for characters?
You said max HP at first level, you leaving after that to random rolls or what? (don't, thats cheater bait)

no prebuffing
32 point buy
Maximum HP for level 1
Corebook
advance players
advance race
ultimate series
starting wealth for your level
1 archetype
You can use Crafting Feats

Full round action to pull out paladin or druid companions, and summoners will still have to cast the second level spell to pull out there eidolon fast.

I will be using Dueling and Spelling Dueling in the fights for immidate action parry and counter spelling.

Arena's are done out of random roll

I'll set a deadline when I have atleast 8 people interested

So, to sum up:

32 challengers, 5th level, 32 PB, Fast progression, Max hp first, rest average,

Books: Core, APG, Ultimate Combat/Magic/Equipment, ARG, 1 archetype limit (so no Quigong/Sensei or whatever?),

Limitation: full rd action to "summon" mount/animal companion, familiar into fight

Special variant: Dueling and spell dueling rules in place (immediate action parries and counterspells)

Duel counters/dodge: http://www.d20pfsrd.com/gamemastering/duels
Note: End of match victor gains exp and 1 piece of equipment off fallen enemy
Background of character, possible video story of character?,
Can bet on matches of remaining gold (used to purchase gear before 2nd match)
Possible arenas: Prime, Urban, Elemental, Planar,
Include tactics/special move/contingencies.

Submit to Fightingfestival13@live.com?

So do you run the fights is this why we include tactics/contigencies?

For crafting rules: do we get the FAQ benefit that crafting feats count WBL for crafted items by crafted price not market price?

I have some interesting curveballs for everyone round after the first to keep it a little more interesting. To avoid the repentiveness

Scarab Sages

Curveballs? So a fight could be decided by some random factor inherent to the arena, and not the strength of the build?

Webstore Gninja Minion

Moved thread.

All fights will be determine by player build. Curveballs just add something a little something extra. I got most of my curveball Ideas from Real Life Sports. So don't fear this is still about the build.

I can't go into to deep about the curveballs, because I want to keep them a surprise. They won't effect your actual fight in the way you are probably thinking, and I'm adding a lot of player participation to come up in future videos and introductions. Such as Curveballs will be disclosed before the 3 and so on rounds.

Edit: come to think about it if you get knocked off a ledge onto a lower level you could take falling damage or possibly fire damage from torches. So I guess it's not out of the way that you could take damage from something else.

How much are backstory/video introductions required?

Are we less likely to get in if we have a no/bad backstory/intro video?

If we multiclass, is it one archetype per class or all together?

If Advanced Race Guide is allowed is the race Kasatha allowed from it?

no the video backstory is just for fun it's not required

one archetype all together

I did forget about the races in the Race builder section, but just Core, featured and Uncommon races.

I'd be interested if only to fill the ranks with some fodder if it needs filling. I'm still rather new to the game in terms of playing outside of core.

In the case of multiclassing, is it one archetype per class or one period? Also, starting distance?

just 1 single little archetype you can have all the classes you want. I haven't decided on a starting distance and when I have I probably won't tell anyone.

Would emailing you Mythweavers link be fine or do we need to send a word programed typed character?

As long as i can see the character sheet so I can put it on paper than I doesn't bother me.

Just submitted my entry (Allena Autumnleaf), if accepted I will post a background story for her here.

Email provided for submissions doesn't work.

MSN sucks I can't even send an email from my regular account to that account but I can access it still so new Submission E-mail address is

FIGHTINGFESTIVAL13@YAHOO.COM

I am so sorry about the problems

Will we know who we are up against in each match, and submit tactics prior?

I'll be submitting a character using the most overpowered class.

Build submitted to new address.

Yes you'll know who you are fighting before the match starts, but I'm not going to tell you what class they are you'll have to guess that for yourself.

Two accepted Submission 2/12 before I set a deadline, but looking for at least 30 more.

I've had alot of character submissions going over on there stat points and there gold limit please add your gold piece value math to your character submissions.

I resent Sheet, I think you need to ask for Stat calculations when you aren't sure as there are many ways to do Point buy. Any stat 7 means +4 more points.
Don't forget race modifiers.

3/12 before I make a Deadline. Still looking for 29 more people.

The Exchange

Sounds interesting. I shall think of something.

Shameless bump to promote interest.

4/12 until a Deadline is set Still looking for 28 more

You will be hearing from me.

Count me in. Appropriately, I'll be bringing an Oracle to the fight. :D

Super Shamely bump for the Fighting Festival, and come on people join up and join the fight!

I'll bump this as well. I'd love to see more interest in the project.

Also, how are we expecting this to play out? Play by Post? Details there would be nice.

Any new submissions?

.

I'm still at 4/12, but the fact I'm offering so much with level gain gambling every book worth of options. I think it's scaring people away because it's to much, and not like other Gladiator matches.

I've been trying to design my rigging for my Tablet to oversee the fights and designing varies arena's. Also continuing to form audience participation ideas to make it a little more fun.

I can't believe how little interest there is in something that could be so fun for everyone???

So this is dead then?

It's not dead I'll continue to repost it until i get more interest.

Good to hear

I'm just giving to many options and sometimes people need to really think and look at the rules. I did offer the ability to do almost anything, although I wonder how far ahead people are looking, because I'm thinking the finalist might only be level 9 or 10. I could be wrong on that though who knows.

Just another bump and looking for more suggestions to get interest.

Maybe toning down the gambling and leveling rules. Winner gains a level and gets appropriate wealth by level. (New items only, no upgrades, sell back at half). Also, at time of posting the general discussion thread was being heavily monitored and a bunch of stuff (like this) got dumped in houserules where it doesn't belong and gets no attention. I would suggest reposting with any simplified rules you choose in the GD forum again.
