Subscription Shipments to Germany

Website Feedback

Would be great if any subscribers from germany, if there are any around, could help me out with an answer. I'm planning to subscribe to a few product lines but really don't intend to make a monthly trip to the customs office a habit just to pick up my books. Could you please let me know if you get your books delivered directly to your home?
Had both experiences with shipments from the USA in the past and would like to be sure before I commit to the subsriptions.

Thanks a lot, any answer would be much appreciated.

I've only had to pick up subscription shipments from the customs office twice in about 3 years. In general, they seem to be more interesting in larger shipments. Most of the time, the subscription shipments are sent in 2 small boxes rather than 1 big box.

I think they updated their process a year or so ago, so you may want to check on specifics if it has been a while since you last ordered products internationally.

I only have to pick up deliveries at the customs office, when they are especially large (about €250 including shipment), which doesn't happen if they are only subscriptions (unless mini subscription, I don't know about that).

Even then, I recieve a postal note including an offer from postal service to pre-pay custom fee for you, you then have to pay the fee on delivery. That would work without the postal note, unfortunatly the USPS packaging doesn't conform to German customs rules - so you will need to send a copy of your bill to the customs office who hold your shipment after receiving the postal note.

So: I have subscribed to most paizo lines and if I don't add other stuff to my subscriptions, the bill remains firmly custom free so the postal service delivers the stuff to my house.

Thanks Nix!

Had two shipments in the last few months, but both were rather large boxes with more than just books in them. As Paizo's product lines usually have 2-3 new small books per month I hoped they would send them in an equally small box. Glad to hear that is the case!

And thanks to you as well, feytharn, guess I'm going to subscribe then :)

You're welcome.

In the past, if the shipping type was "Standard Postal Delivery", the shipment has been (sometimes multiple) smaller boxes or envelopes.

It is worth noting that shipments usually take 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 weeks, though occasionally it can take longer, especially during the Christmas shipping rush. (Even if two packages are shipped on the same day, they may arrive at very distant times.)

Yes, you want standard postal delivery, and try to keep the cost of individual boxes below 70-80 $ (including shipping).
