James is correct, of course. We hope to have the Player's Guide up prior to the release of the first volume. I'm still working on it currently, so now would be a great time to tell me some stuff y'all think would be good to include before I tidy it up and send it off to art and editing. I can't promise everything, but I'll do what I can.
- How favored terrain works with the Worldwound, and which would be good choices.
- What kinds of cohorts and followers make sense for a player thinking about building a character with Leadership.
- Which, if any, Story feats from Ultimate Campaign are particularly logical for this campaign.
- A heads up on any unusual or uncommmon skill choices that do make sense in this campaign, such as Knoweldge (engineering) for siege engineers.
- Suggestions for familiars, sorcerer bloodlines, wizard specialties, witch patrons, and oracle mysteries. Or warnings if any are particularly bad or odd choices.
- A bit about Sarkoris' druids, for anyone looking to play a druid of the old traditions, so they can pick a variant that would fit in.
- Some mention of Riftwardens and maybe Mammoth Riders from Paths of Prestige, to let people know how they interact with the Mythic rules. Likewise for other prestige classes.

Do we know yet if we'll be hitting level 20 by the end of this run? Last I heard it was a maybe yes maybe no kind of thing. Really hoping this one goes the distance.
James is still developing the adventures, so that final calculation is still a running number. It's looking likely, however.

I just finished developing part 3, and by the end of that one, your PCs should be WELL into 12th level.
SO... things are looking QUITE good for hitting 20th level by the end. Maybe even a bit before the end!

In fact... the 6 Campaign Traits in this one will have their own built in links to personal quests and additional rewards that PCs can explore, encounter, and earn as the Adventure Path goes on.

Man, I hope the actual modules hold up to all the awesome which surrounds them already.
I must admit that I am a bit disappointed that it seems like Brandon won't be writing a module for this AP (although there still is a chance it will be module six) and he wrote what is for me the best module in years with Rasputin Must Die over in Reign of Winter (I certainly hope that it will be nominated for the ENNIE's). Although I am sure that the other writers will do a great job, anyway. I just am a bit worried, after not really feeling it for module three and four of Reign of Winter.

That sounds much more promising and interesting than yet another way to get +2 init. Looking forward to it!

In the words of the immortal Eric Cartman, "Sweeeeeeeeeeet!" Thanks for the heads up guys.

I'm 99% sure we will. This is the big "punch demon lords in the face" AP, and demon lords start at CR 25 or so, so a belt full of Mythic tiers and 20 levels puts you right in the sweet spot. James Jacobs also mentioned somewhere that because the AP is mythic, it's easier to throw more XP at the PCs, because mythic PCs can handle higher-level dudes and therefore don't have to finish the usual ten-ish encounters needed to gain a level. So more big fights - less mook fights + more XP = more page space for levels.

Page Count? The great nemesis of writers the worlds over. Interesting, I'd wondered how it was determined where the party ended up level'wise. The overall process makes a bit more sense now. I always modify modules I DM and kept wondering why no one just added a little extra spice here and there to up the levels by endgame. You've got 20, might as well use 'em.
Page Count. I hate that guy.

Makes sense. I know from personal experience (writing webcomic reviews) that while you can push out additional content for a while, eventually you need to cut down or quality suffers as a result. I'd much rather the APs be the length they are and retain their superb quality than be bigger and reach level 20... but be inferior products as a result.

One if my most versatile pcs, for PFS anyway, is my gnome stormborn sorcerer and I'm curious how he would do in this AP. Demons are immune to electricity but I'm not sure how the mythic rules would play into it. And he has got serious maneuverability from flight and other stuff. Is there a mythic version of lightning bolt coming out?

Damn. Not that I have anything against Rich, but I was hoping for Brandon after the fantastic Rasputin Must Die!
Well, thus far, my favorite Book Six that Paizo has released was written by Mr. Pett, so I'm more than happy to hear this revelation! The man just knows how to finish an AP.
Granted, Mr. Hodge would a very close second. =)

I asked this question in another thread but I think it got lost in all the excitement. For those of us who are subscribers, will we be getting our PDFs of Mythic and the AP prior to Gen Con, during, or after?
Read THIS short thread for information on August subscriptions.

Anyone know if Areelu Vorlesh is featured in this AP at all? Just purchased the Worldwound and she looks pretty hard core (mythic)
Well...

I'm wondering if there is going to be any inclusion of Lhaksharut Inevitables in the AP, or at least notes as to why they aren't involving themselves if they aren't invovled.
The Worldwound seems to be something that would draw their ire.-TimD
At this point they're not on deck to be involved. That may well change; they certainly would be interested in the Worldwound, but there might well be a reason they're not going to be involved. Wait and see, in other words! ;-)
James Jacobs Creative Director |
Will we see any of the characters from the World Wound Incursion in the AP or statted out?
Ummm... all of the characers in the Worldwound Incursion are statted out, as needed, to play the adventure. Are you instead asking if any of the characters from the Worldwound 64 page campaign setting book will be statted out in the Wrath of the Righteous AP... then yes, you will.
James Jacobs Creative Director |
OOPS, I meant the World Wound Gambit.
Ah.
Some of the monsters mentioned in passing in the Worldwound Gambit will appear in Wrath of the Righteous, although they'll have proper names now, rather than "filth demon" or "locust demon." And at least one minor character introduced in Worldwound Gambit in the form of the subject of a bardic song will play an interesting role.
There's a fair amount of Worldwound Gambit easter eggs scattered throughout, in other words, and a few from Dave Gross's recent novel "King of Chaos" as well, but not a lot.

Will the Player's Guide say which classes are NOT a good match with this AP? I know morally everyone should be relatively good, but are inquistors more suited than druids and stuff like that?
Nope. We're trying to include moments for all the classes to shine. Of ALL the classes, I guess gunslinger's the worst choice, but only because there's not gonna be much (any) gun-based treasure in the adventure.

And that's easy to fix on the GM-side of things.

Player's Guide is free content. It must take backseat to other things that are not free. I wouldn't care if it comes a week after; I'm simply happy they provide us with one! ;)

I understand folks being eager to start their Wrath of the Righteous games, and I'm delighted to see the anticipation... but at the same time, we need to time the releases of these products right so that they all happen pretty close to simultaneous for various reasons.
If you're worried about not having enough time to prepare your character for a game, let your GM know. Were I your GM, I would either delay the start of the game a week (which would give me one more week to read and prepare the adventure itself, which is more complex than preparing a character and will have to start several days after you'll get your head start on character creation anyway), or I would let my players know that if after a few sessions they realized they made an error in character design they can rebuild as they wish.
