which is easy if they are just goblins, with possibly negatives to perception checks from low wis score, and bilbo has all the regular bonuses from size, race etc. then it makes sense. doesnt when you add levels to everyone.
that being said, a small creature hiding from a small creature would still get bonuses to stealth?

Why would bilbo be higher level? He's never done anything, gone anywhere. Tolkien takes great pains to describe coaxing a fat, lazy homebody out onto an adventure appealing to a wander lust gandalf knows is in there somewhere.....
Maybe age? From Gandalf's description, Bilbo ran around a lot when he was younger developing stealth skills and whatever. Then, maybe a level or two of expert or aristocrat for his comfortable life? It's a possible translation.
OR maybe 1st level, if he starts with more than 1 hit dice of hit points, which some games do.

which what next? which dwarf?
in the movies.... order of 'interesting' or coolness is:
Thorin
Dwalin
Fili
Kili
Balin
The others.
I'd make Dwalin a barbarian, but paper work and tracking an NPC of that level, erf. However a fighter with that many feats would be about the same, without the rounds per day tick marks.

I already have the Classes laid out...
The Info will be in the original link.
They are mostly Rangers focusing on all the available fighting styles the characters can/would/have/had used.

Fili is using TWF.
Kili is using Archery.
I am looking at the books and using the GW minis and LotR Wiki for most of it. Fili, from what I have seen, seems more to just using flanking a lot.
I am working on Dwalin now.
Side-Topic: Have you guys heard that LotRO is planning a "Journey to tthe Lonely Mountain" Adventure Set for Kinships in the game?
