heya.

I would say rise of the runelords.

I am a believer in using limited maps for pbp. I am in another game where he uses an excel sheet with basic colors on google docs that everyone can edit.

those are my initial thoughts.


I am up for any AP but Rise of the Runelords seems pretty popular. The other big one seems to be kingmaker. I think Runelords maybe more of a classic type of campaign.

Ive only just started my first pbp campaign (kingmaker, we are still on Day 1), and playing a skype game thru Carrion Crown (just started book 2).....Ive heard lots of great things about runelords but Im up for any AP. Ive been gaming forever so Im up for any role (although I did take a 10yr break in the middle so I might be a little rusty).

Ive been reading a ton of pdp campaigns to try and learn how they work and Ive seen a little of everything: the fancy picture maps with character tiles and even fog of war are nice, but excel sheets get the job done too. There seems to be a ton of info available out there in terms of maps, npcs, etc so picking an established path should be a little easier Id think.

Not sure how much help I can be but it certainly makes sense for us to share the load.

I mostly try and work off what I have.

I have Kingmaker books 1 and 2.

I have shackled city (the entire thing)

I have ashardalon series (the entire thing) The first AP! although it was technically called "linked modules"
Those modules were:

Lord of the Iron Fortress

We could start with something simple like

seems like interest is in rise of the runelords.

I will look around at what I have and maybe just settle on a "short" prelude something to get things going.

This is that ARchaeologist bard


I have pdf of second darkness, Legacy of fire and Serpent's skull and the first mod of Rise of the Runelords.

I also have several of the other pathfinder mods.

if we do play Rise of the runelords then Here is my prefered character


A short prelude might be the ticket to settle us all in once we have characters.

As for what sort of character, I'm pretty flexible about what role to serve. I'm not comfortable playing evil for a sustained period. Other than that, if the party needs a tiefling paladin, I'll do it. Or if the requirement is for an aasimar oracle or a gnome barbarian or an elven sorcerer, I'm game. I'll also play minmax'ed characters.

Out of existing aliases, I'd love to play Shoah. I also have a tiefling barbarian who would be a lot of fun, but she's not onsite yet.

I think as far as APs go, I'm up for almost anything. I really just want to get the chance to play some.
I'm pretty open to trying whatever role the party needs, but if given my choice, I'd go for the front lines. Barbarian/paladin/fighter.

Are we more or less agreed on being a "good" party? Or is there a big push to do evil or the timeless classic, "we're all chaotic neutral, why can't we get along?" party.

I agree with Kender.

If someone was willing to run an AP, I would be willing to run a short intro for us all. Basically it would allow us to get to know each other and have a little more loot, and whomeever is starting the AP can let me know what XP to end up with.

This would probably be homebrew, or maybe I would do a module, one of the free ones. Whatever it is it would not be over long, but would allow the AP DM to set up. I would somehow tie in my character as an NPC so he everyone knows him as well.

I see no reason to limit traits to specific campaigns...

Yes alot of them are very campaign specific, but others are just background information.

I am open to nearly any trait (except rich parents).

Well you said you needed help, and I can't run an AP cause I dont have any :)

How many players do we actually have?

I propose either 20 or 25 pt buy. 2 traits. 1 free choie and 1 campaign trait from an AP. Max starting gold.


I am putting together an AP of my own design But I am unsure on running here on the boards. I seem to have issues with mapping tools.

If people can bear with my "noobieness" with DMing I can pick up after the intro thread and the party is assembled.

This will not be an official Paizo AP but it is along the same lines in feel and playability

I am content with that, if others are. do you have campaign traits? Is it set in golarion?

You will also see that my maps are very basic and I just post them on a blogspot I do more descriptive than other map based

The Ap is all Golarion campaign traits are taken from Serpent's skull or Skull and Shackles AP's the game begins in Port Peril.

For playtesting (on the table top game) we had 4 players with 25 point buy and had 2 traits plus 1 "campaign" no summoners or alchemist, Emerging Guns (that was the original rules I had at that time.)

Ok. So Edward will run his AP. 25 pt buy 2 traits +1 Campaign Trait from Serpant Skull or Skull and Shackles.

Vachordi will run the intro mod that will get us to know each other and (pending Edwards approval) level 2

I will come in after my short intro, with my character taking place of Edwards. The intro will be somewhere around port peril

As much as I adore my Bard's it looks like that will be taken, I will tentatively plan on making a Besmaran Cleric withthe Deception and Weather (or storms) domains for when I come in after the intro.

also I will expect you all to be able to eat and drink, so keep that in mind when buying stuff


I can say this for the AP trap are present but not as common as some would like them to be.

one hint I can give is negotiating deals and or brokering peace accords or possibly even cutting a deal with a potential enemy to take out another common enemy may be involved.

depends on the real dm. I tend to think 6 is a lot. But it is his call. I am fine either way for the beginning.

though something to keep in mind, you might get left behind if you can't post all day...again I don't mind botting players myself but can't speak for edward


well considering I cannot post all day as well . but I due post as frequently as I can (except weekends)

I also don't mind six My original idea was to ensure I have at least one slot open for a first time player a chance to give them some "board cred"
