We just posted the Daily Update to the Kickstarter and this one is a doozy!

Learn all about The Daily Deal, a special promotion that will run from Sunday the 16th to the end of the Kickstarter!

I'm totaly not seeing anything about those dailey deals other then this

"Daily Deals Start Sunday!

The Daily Deal program we announced yesterday begins on Sunday! You must be a backer at least at the $35 Adventurer level to get the Daily Deals added to your account. Don't delay - complete sets of these items will likely be very valuable, and you only get the Daily Deals starting on the day you back the project! (All existing qualified Backers automatically get the Daily Deals, and Crowdforger Alpha backers get the Daily Deals regardless of when they pledge)."

Am I just blind?

Seems they overlooked putting it in on the latest post.

I must be blind as I can't see a list of the daily deal items. Anyone care to provide a link for the blind and befuddled?

To my knowledge there isn't one. Ryan said there will be 30 and that they will be posting about them everyday till the end of the kickstarter. AKA I think its a surprise till a items given day.

@Valkenr - I can't help those people. It's just too early to make that kind of declaration and it really flies in the face of putting risk and reward into the game.

These are not questions that should stop someone from pledging.

Risk vs. Reward can also be built into the items:

Let the items place an automatic bounty on the looter that only goes away once the item has been returned to the rightful owner.

Reward:
- You can show off having killed a kickstarter backers character.

Risk:
- if you loot it, better not let the item get your of control, or else you are instantly on the content side of the game.

alternatively (might be easier to put in code):

make the daily deal items identifiably as having been looted, by making them change color or something similar, till they are back in the hands of a legal owner.

- the item will only be of value to a rightful owner, because who wants to buy something obviously stolen?

- if the attacker loots it, they gein a nearly unsellable item at the risk of bounty on their head and reputation loss.

I really think that's a whole lot of unnecessary work.

If the daily deals are to help early supporters get acknowledgement, doesn't that loose value if they can be sold? One possibility could be to have the items revert to common items if they ever leave the possession of the early supporter. However, if the bling is really important to the player then threading is the answer.

Nah it's absolutely fantastic, instead of just eating a bank slot when I'm done with enjoying an item it can actually be useful to me down the road by trading/selling it for something new, and the person trading for it can get something they wouldn't otherwise have access to, and we both come out happy.

Question for Devs:

1) Does the Captain's Blade have the property "silver weapon?"
2) Does the Dogslicer have a disease weapon property?

Pathfinder Online's PvP basis doesn't appeal to me and I wouldn't leave my current MMO for it.

And most of the rewards have struck me as some combination of overpriced/uninteresting/inappropriate.

However, this Daily Deal is the exact opposite of all three of those.

I believe that if PFO fails it will give a black eye to the Pathfinder RPG (yes, Goblinworks is its own company. But Paizo is written all over this project).

So, even though I doubt I'll stick with it past the free month, I signed up at the $35 level today.

This Daily Deal reward is EXACTLY the type of thing that should be done with this kickstarter project. Kudos to GW for coming up with it and making a non-PFO fan a backer.

@Mbando - the Daily Deal items are for bling, not for mechanics; I doubt they'll have any interesting mechanical effects!

Very sad :(

Appreciate the answer though.

A dogslicer with its 'special' property would break in the first few fights you used it, since they're fragile.

Ryan,

I agree with Valkner, I really feel many will hold back on pledging because they don’t want the chance to lose their unique item(s), unless they decide to do so. At least for those where these Daily Deals will be a tipping factor in making a pledge.

Yes, there is risk and reward associated with the game, but what has been said multiple times is many of the items you lose can be replaceable. May not be cheap, but you can replace them.

With these Daily Deals, as the description even indicates, they are unique. Never can be bought or crafted. You lose it, it’s gone forever. I can see people getting very angry if they get ambushed and losing their unique item they will never see again. And really, it’s an option that doesn’t need to be in the game, there will still be plenty of risk and reward with other items you will be able to lose/gain.

This is a good point. The justification for the risk of full-looting is the ease of replacement of items, and these are shaping up to be nothing special mostly vanity. And they will not be easy to replace.

I would like to see them be soul-bound, and once the item changes hands, the binding is broken and it becomes as lootable as anything else. There should be a 100% chance that you do not lose these items to accident or stupidity.

If an item is obtained in-game it should have no loss protection. If an item is gained through some promo-event and has no serious mechanical benefit, it should have loss protection for the first owner.

I think the answer is a low/no threading cost, so that no one, first owner or later owner, has to worry about this special reward being lost through mishap or chance.

New item up!

Alchemist goggles, eh? Think I found the centerpiece of my ensemble.

Apologies if this was addressed but:

I recall hearing that to keep crafting a big part of the game, item durability and deterioration would be very important. Are these special items going to have limited durability? Will only some of them (the functional ones vs. the cosmetic ones)? Will there be an option to repair the ones that broke?

Given that they are all supposed to be "bling" vs high end gear, I would hope so.

They've already said that items bought via MTX would be better protected from loss than regular items, since the theft of a MTX-purchased item essentially turns a virtual mugging into a real one. I would think these items are roughly equivalent to MTX-purchased ones in that regard.
