I have looked for a message board dedicated to the VTT that Paizo announced at their last Paizo Con, but I see nothing... I did a search in the forums, but most of the posts were from 2010 or earlier...
isn't there a forum dedicated to it? is there a thread at least where folks are talking about it?
is it even a thing? or, did the MMO take up all the time of the Devs formerly dedicated to the VTT?
thanks for any info.. once upon a time I was really stoked about this, but I can't seem to find any information on it.
thanks again.

Is it dead already? sigh - I was really looking forward to this! I thought I saw somewhere it was moving into a beta stage, and it seems like I read about games being played on it by some of the internal staff etc. but now with the MMO being the talk of the town, I see no updates on the VTT, and wonder if it's going the way of WOTC's ill fated attempt.
sigh, oh well, Epic Table is going a great job in the mean time - I'll continue to put resources into expanding my PathFinder VTT play into that.
but on the off chance that there 'is' still forward motion on this, and some one has info. on where I could go to 'stay on top' of it... I'd greatly appreciate some tips and direction.
thanks!

It's not dead, the discussion is happening in the Website Feedback forum for now, which is where I'm moving this thread.
Edit: Most of the recent discussion has been in the comments to this blog post.

A bunch of us (Jeff Alvarez, Liz Courts, Erik Keith, myself and Cosmo) did another pre-alpha test of it last night. Things went pretty well. We are all loving it, although at one point Cosmo got logged out and couldn't get back in. Using the high-res maps makes it look BEAUTIFUL. Gary was busy looking over my shoulder and making notes about tweaking things. I personally found setting up custom dice macros to be super easy and I love that the chat log says what I am rolling (ie Paza Kifu* rolls ranged touch attack 1d20+3= 18 or Paza Kifu rolls Fiery, Fiery Death 4d6 = 21) so past rolls are easily referenced if I need to go back and check on something.

Awesome! I'm glad to know it's still a thing and still rolling forward... is there anyone that I could Bribe, Beg or Bed to get into the beta? (wink) I'm working on a 'game room' in my basement, it will be dedicated to Hybrid games, with some friends at the table, and some playing remote. I'd love to play test.
I made that page JUST for my 'get in the beta beg' post. :-P Wait.... I mean, I MADE THAT ROOM, specially so my begging would have weight behind it. :-P
hah - oh, and I know right in the first line of that page, that I mention 'pic's n vids' of my VTT play - but I know how Beta's work, AND I know that I'd not be allowed to 'post' play tests sessions etc. until specifically told to - AND I am really good at obeying such NDA style restrictions.
of course I'm just joshin about getting in the beta, I'm sure there are lot's of folks like me just dying for a spot in it - but seriously had I known that a ticket to Paizo Con would have got me a spot - well, I'd definitely have had one. :-)
and.. um.. even though I'm 'just joshin around'... I certainly wouldn't kick an invite to the curb. heh.
Thanks for continuing to work towards the Paizo VTT becoming a reality, and Thanks for answering my post!
I <3 Paizo.

Here is a screen shot from today with some updates to the chat system. Although Gary did say how it looks will likely change again before the beta is ready: Corgi Screenshot!

Awesome!! I love how chat is gonna work! It's a perfect solution for showing what character is saying what, and helps keep game immersion in full force. way to go!

A token is basically an image with a transparent background. If you do this with an image of a miniature from, say, the Pathfinder Battles line, it really looks like a real life miniature that you are placing on a table-top. The screenshots I've seen so far of the Game Space all have character portraits (like Sara Marie's forum avatar).
To me, this was one of the really cool features of playing on a VTT. In real life, I often don't have the *exact* mini I needed for a game, and I would just substitute an appropriately sized mini to stand in for the creature. With a VTT, as long as I have time to prepare beforehand, I could simply go browse WoTC's miniature gallery and make the tokens I needed with an image editor.

I think most of the Paizo-supplied tokens will look more like what you see on our Pathfinder Pawns.
One of our goals is to let third-party publishers sell things like maps and tokens for use on our VTT, though, so I'd expect more token-like products to be available sometime after we launch.

It just feels more like an actual table top game if you can't see the white background to the tokens, at least to me. Then it's like looking down at a mat with physical minis.
It's a small thing, but I think the goals of a good VTT should basically be to:
1) Make it feel like you're actually sitting around a table playing the game with real people.
2) Enhance/alleviate the tedious parts of table-top gaming (running combats quickly and efficiently for example).
I look forward to seeing the products Paizo offers through the Game Space. It sounds like it's going to be a little less customizable than some of the other VTTs out there, but if you can put out quality stuff it'll be worth a few bucks to save a lot of time building the adventure. Anyone who has used, say, Fantasy Grounds knows it can be a very lengthy process to create quality adventures.

I think I can add more info with that. First if 'Game Space' can take PNG files, then you have a couple of options. You don't have the top down view; but if they're using the paper minis, you can erase the white in photoshop or GIMP. Save it as PNG and then import into 'Game Space.' In fact I do that now for Maptool. I would post my whole campaign with them, but I'm sure that would be a copyright infringement.
Having options of tokens with an alpha channel already I think is a more reasonable compromise, as opposed to redoing all the artwork with a top down view. Which will cost the company more money to pay the artists.

If we can upload PNG files to Game Space, the sky is the limit, really. I get the impression that won't be the case, however, because they'll want to sell us packs of minis, among other things. :)
For the record, even if you give us the option to create our own stuff on here, I'm sure lots of people would still be willing to buy the products you offer in the store. I would, if it's quality.

It wouldn't be software without any bugs!
Seriously though this is part of why we're doing private testing before rolling it out publicly. No sense in having the same obvious bugs reported a million times.
We are absolutely not however going to wait until it's perfect to roll it out. That would mean it never goes public, and that would be bad. Mainly what's going on right now is fixing the biggest bugs and getting a small number of features we think are must-haves finalized.
