I'll be returning to the scene of my infection - Megacon 2012 was where I played my first ever Pathfinder Society game after Dom encouraged me to try it out. Pregen Ezren in First Steps Part 1. Now I'm a one-star GM & organize our local monthly PFS event.
This'll be Elvis' first appearance though... (Sorry Kristie, he insists on coming along).
Speaking of Elvis:
Q: "How many chickens does it take to run Pathfinder Society?"
Magical_Beast |
@ Elvis: It will be my pleasure to personally help Elvis get a first hand tour of the Boneyard. :)
@ Fromper: I know it is a long way for you now but it would be AWESOME to see you again at Megacon in 2013! If you can make it, even if it is last minute, let me know and I will do everything I can to make sure you get seated at the tables you want to play at.
@ Mike: You won't be disappointed. :)

Eyes of the Ten is on our Warhorn already and we will add as many tables as we need to in order to satisfy demand.
I am the RPG coordinator, so pm me anytime if you have questions or problems getting signed up!
You can also come chat with us on floridapfs.org
See you at the con!

Eyes of the Ten! Eyes of the Ten! Is this going to be on warhorn or is there some other way to make sure I get in on this?
Estragon al' Godot is at the ready to serve the Decemvirate!
Link is at the top of the 1st post - click on Megacon Warhorn. It's kinda hard to see as it's at the very top of the post. Plus you rolled low on your perception check. And you didn't put any ranks in it. And your dump stat is Wisdom. And it's snowing. etc...

Dumb bunny question: do we need to register for each warhorn site everytime? I have a winter_born registration for the floridapfs nights at coolstuff. Do I need to reg for the MegaCon events separately? I'm thinking yes, as it's telling me Incorrect PW even though I can log in fine at the floridapfs side of things without fail.
Also I'm thinking I'd need to purchase my tix for MegaCon in order to reg for slots at warhorn? Again I'm thinking yes, but looking for confirmation. Sucks to be such a PFS noob, but I'm trying to eliminate that issue. :)
Cheers, all!

Yes to the Warhorn registration. Each site is unique - it is, in fact, the one real drag about using Warhorn for sign ups.
You can register on the MegaCon Warhorn anytime, but you will need to send us your MegaCon receipt to be cleared to sign up for games.
Everyone is a noob sometime - and these are good questions!
Magical_Beast |
Yeah, that's the one really annoying thing about Warhorn.
Well, as much as I'd like to head down to Florida and hang out with all my friends down there, I just don't think I can do it so soon after starting my new job here in Chicago. I need to build up some vacation time first. :(
If you can't make it, we will roll dice in your honor. Nat 20 for my homies!

The independent RPG schedule is finalized and Pathfinder Society is filling up fast! WARHORN SIGNUPS
We will have TWO EXCLUSIVE tables of the Special Event scenario The Ruins of Bonekeep Part 1: The Silent Grave run by Mike Brock himself to raise money for The Wounded Warrior Project.
PFS Special: Ruins of Bonekeep: Level 1: The Silent Grave - By Jason Bulmahn, Pathfinder Lead Designer:
Just outside the city of Absalom sits the ruins of a long-forgotten siege castle. Torn down nearly to its foundation, the ruins of Bonekeep have been silent for decades, but the Pathfinders have learned of a series of dungeons beneath its crumbling white pillars, and it appears that they are not-so silent after all. Foul creatures and deadly traps await those daring to plunder its depths, but the rumor of untold wealth and forgotten relics make such dangers worth any risk. This is a Pathfinder Society special event for 3rd- through 7th-level characters (Tier 3–7). This is a deadly event designed to push characters to their limit and beyond, but with such danger comes greater reward for those that survive.
MegaCon GMs will get special consideration to win a seat at these two tables!
And we will also have: Race for the Runecarved Key (Season 4 Interactive), Day of the Demon (Season 4 Exclusive Scenario), Eyes of the Ten - Parts I-IV, Thornkeep, Florida Lodge PFS Meeting, GM 101, Kids Track, 60+ tables of PFS games and lots and lots of goblins!

Looking forward to seeing you at MegaCon!

We will have TWO EXCLUSIVE tables of the Special Event scenario The Ruins of Bonekeep Part 1: The Silent Grave run by Mike Brock himself to raise money for The Wounded Warrior Project.
This means that at Megacon the right to sit at this exclusive will be an auction event set for what day of megacon? as some people have already signed up for events at those times, being that it mentions no pre-reg for the exclusive.
Does this mean that you have to have the slot open for that exclusive or can those already registered for an event can still buy in?how exactly will this work? any foresight on this please.
Also the Thornkeep scenarios are indicated as being PFS scenarios, meaning we can legally use our PFS characters and receive PFS chronicles for those scenarios?
Magical_Beast |
Here is how the Bonekeep seats will work:
There is a game being run on Friday night (7pm-11pm) and again on Sunday morning (9am-1pm).
Purchase tickets for the drawings anytime you want. No max limit on ticket purchases - tickets are available as soon as the RPG rooms open.
$1 = 1 ticket
$5 = 6 tickets
$10 = 12 tickets
$20 = 25 tickets
First drawing will be at the beginning of the 2pm slot on Friday, to give tables and GMs a chance to adjust. Second drawing will be at the lodge meeting on Saturday night (after Runecarved Key). You can only win one seat, if a duplicate player is selected that ticket is discarded and a new winner is chosen for that seat.
If you are scheduled to GM and win a slot to play, your slot will be covered by me and the Venture Officers who are available. If you are already playing a table during a Bonekeep slot, you will have to choose which table you want to sit at.
Players have until 30 minutes prior to Bonekeep to claim their seats - then alternates will be selected to sit in their stead.
Thornkeep is being offered as PFS scenarios - legal characters only, chronicles will be issued.
Magical_Beast |
I haven't run any of Thornkeep yet (or even had time to read it), but based on what I'm seeing on the Paizo boards, each of these sections *can* be run in a convention slot, although they might run a little long - depending on the level.
I'm going to be helping my GMs get ready to run this as efficiently as possible to maximize the play experience within the confines of the con. We are also going to let players know as they sit down that the Thornkeep tables might spill into the break.

Everyone sign up to play The Disappeared! I'll be running it twice, and it is a FUN adventure.
"Pathfinders, your mission, should you choose to accept it..."
*cues up the Mission Impossible theme song*
"... As always, should any of your party be caught or killed, the Decemvirate will disavow any knowledge of your actions. Ambrus Valsin will self destruct in 5 seconds."

That's funny, they usually disavow knowledge of our actions anyway...
Can't wait for a fun and wild MegaCon! ^_^ See y'all soon!

Remember to pick up your raffle tickets for our Wounded Warrior Charity Raffle with nearly $1k in prizes. Also, if we reach our $1K mark, everyone's favorite Venture-Lieutenant (and let's face it, I AM everyone's favorite), will be dressing up in crossplay!
So get on over to Megacon '13 if you want to take pictures of me because I just know we'll blow this out of the water!

Just got home. Was well worth the trip down from Chicago! Thanks to everyone for making it such a wonderful weekend!
And just for the record, Beasy in a dress wasn't the only elephant in the room this weekend. I GMed one scenario where one of my players literally brought an elephant (animal companion) to a fancy party!

MegaCon was a huge success as far as I can tell- lots of growth over last year, the Wounded Warrior fund-raiser brought in over $1,400 in donations(!!!) and the Runecarved Key event was run smoothly, with much theatrics and with much better sound/organization than Ruby Phoenix last year. GREAT JOB and *kudos* to all the organizers who made MegaCon 2013 memorable!
I am sure there will be some more announcements surrounding some events that took place at the convention, but I will leave that to official channels to handle. :-)

None of it would have been possible without Dom, that much is for sure.
This was a great con and my hearty thanks to everyone, GMs, volunteers and players alike, who made it possible.
I have plenty of reporting to do, but it looks like we will top 110 tables of PFS. There were some other games represented, but nothing like the awesome PFS turnout.
You guys all rock!!!!!
