Second Star!

Pathfinder Society

I finally got my second GM star! I've been really fortunate to learn from some very excellent GMs and Venture-Captains and have a great appreciation for people who find a calling running games. To help me celebrate, I would like to ask EVERYONE:

IF YOU HAVE NOT YET RUN A GAME FOR SOMEONE, TRY IT!

There are great threads about doing voices, how to manage the rules; there are lots of people to help you along the way! Please, please, please consider running some games over the holidays and giving some of your time as a GM to help me celebrate my second star!

Well done Rob! Hope to see you in one of my games again soon :)

Congratulations!

Congratulations!

I wish people here would report stuff. From my count, I'd actually be a 1-star GM by now.

I'm looking forward to another one! I gave you props for running some excellent Fantasy Ground games in another thread. ^_^

There's no reason you can't.. There was just a late reporting thread and reporting late is better than reporting never.

Set up an event, report the games, and you're set! Once you get in the habit of doing it, it seriously takes like 5 minutes and you get the recognition PLUS Mike can keep fighting for more PFS budgeting. ^_^

If the organisers you are running for arent reporting for you take the initiative and do it yourself, its fairly easy just to keep the tracking sheets and report against your own event (so that the players will have an online record of their games)

Caderyn is spot on and I should have been more direct in suggesting that you do the legwork instead of the organizers. I have one event number that I use for every game I've GMed outside of a con where I /know/ it's being reported.. helps me see who I've run tables for and if they ever have a problem, I know /I/ can find it for them.

This is why I started reporting my own events. Our local VC does report everything, but sometimes it's over a month, and it's difficult to get errors corrected (but there have been few errors and they have all been corrected, I don't want to give anyone the wrong idea. Jason's a great guy). I've found it's easier to just report my own tables, and I've started to organize events on the weeks he's not at my FLGS.

And Gratz!

I'll run a table in your honor! Or if I have the chance, encourage one of the new guys in our group to run one!

Congratulations on the second star! I also agree that everyone should try to GM at least one scenario. You gain a whole new perspective of the game from sitting on the other side of the screen.

Regarding event reporting, I feel that GMs/event organizers should report them in a timely fashion. I report events the same day, before I go to sleep that night. I think players and GMs should have a reasonable expectation that their event organizer will report events within 24 hours. It's only fair, IMHO.
