We've had one of these for all the good aligned clans in the game but I figured this would be a fun event to open up to the entire community during this Kickstarter pledge-drive.
Great Legionnaires has a 50 man Teamspeak, I will be opening up for the entire community at THIS TIME AND DATE.
This is a chance for the community to get together, say hi, and discuss the game. It's a chance to put some voices to the names, since I've always noticed you get to know a person better when you can hear their voice.
The time and day of this event will be based on community feedback. On a Weekend before the week of December 26-22nd would be preferred so I can be there to make sure everything runs smoothly. After New Years but before the Kickstarter ends would also work. If anyone from Goblinworks would consider attending... let me know. We will schedule this event around YOU if you want to come. I'll even give you temporary TS admin rights if you want them.
In order to take part you will need to:
1. RSVP on this topic once the date is set, so we will know if more than 50 plan to attend.
2. Download Teamspeak 3
4. Setup a microphone if you wish to talk
3. Connect to 216.52.148.11:4450 at the specified time and date.
As a final note I would like to say that this unofficial event is for the entire PFO community that will be using this teen rated game. As such I would ask you not to use any language or make any comments you would not make on the Paizo forums.
@Andius, the "THIS TIME AND DATE" link goes to your profile. Is that what you intended?
[Edit] D'oh! I see you have it set as a comment in the "About Andius" section. I guess you want to be able to change it later. Makes perfect sense.
[Edit2] Consider this my RSVP, tentative based on the chosen time.
Nihimon wrote: [Edit2] Consider this my RSVP, tentative based on the chosen time. No worries there is not need to RSVP before the time and date are set. Right now I'd like people who wish to attend to indicate when would be best for them.
I'd been keen to join in depending on the date and time of course. Howefully it would be at too difficult a time for a kiwi like me to participate.
Great idea! I'm in based on chosen time.
Will definitely show up if I'm available at the chosen date and time.
Hmm, maybe. I live a pretty uncertain life but it would be nice to get involved in the community. Especially if I want to see any of my goals* come to fruition.
*was going to say megalomania, but it's not a very community friendly word
Aeternum was actually in the process of hosting our first meet and greet this month. Our day/time polls are still in process. If ours don't conflict I'll make sure my membership knows :)
Would be fantastic to have a meet and greet at this early stage. Will try to make it if possible...the tyranny of time and distance (and me being in Australia) makes that diffucult at times however.
I guess I can be the first to actually propose a time :)
I would recommend a Saturday afternoon, either in the next two weeks or after Christmas and the New Year.

This sounds pretty interesting. Everything is always up in the air for me, but Saturday afternoons are usually better than the rest of the week.
Hmm sounds good but, needs to be before christmas....
The afternoon of the 8th or 15th sounds great to me too. After that people will be busy with holiday stuff (I know I will) and if we wait until after New Years then some of the purpose is lost. Which is to create excitement in the community and get people pumped up enough to go out and tell their friends about this game and the kickstarer.
If anything a post New Years Meet And Greet, should be a follow up event to the first one. Not the main event.
It would need to be before about 6PM EST for me to attend; I don't think my attendance would be as valuable as that of some of the newer members of the community though.

I think it is important to have a good mix of old and new members. But I'll schedule it around when most people are able to be there, unless someone from Goblinworks wants to come. Having anyone from GW will drive up attendance no matter what time it is. I've seen Ryan, Lisa, Vic, Lee, and Mark all post on these forums, and based off how interesting their posts were I think any one of them would be interesting to talk to on Teamspeak.
Either the 8th or 15th I'm wide open for pretty much any time.
Given the 8th is only a day away. Lets say Saturday, December 15th.
Please post a range of hours you are available during that day if you wish to attend.
For me, I am available from midnight to midnight Pacific Standard Time with a little bit of buffer on both ends. So really any time will work.
Any time here honestly. Though I'd prefer later in the afternoon/evening PST times.
Ill be there but i do work during the day CST.
I should be able to be there, afternoon or later is better than morning. Oh, also I'm on Pacific time.
Bringing this back to the top for people who may not have seen it yet.
Should be a fun day. Wonder if we will hit the cap.
I am good anytime after 5pm eastern.
Great idea. I hope to be part of this if 6-8 hours time difference from germany to whereever you reside allow it. If you do this afternoon it might be doable for me because this would be late night for me.
I would be interested in this as long as it is not too late in the evening.
Sadness.
It's the one day of the month (other than Christmas Day) I can't possibly make thanks to an already-planned family event. And I was looking forward to getting to talk to my future realmmates.
Ah, well, there will be other chances. Enjoy yourselves!

Yes if it goes well then this will not be the last time we do this.
sounds good.
might be an idea to have an agenda roughly mapped out, so that we don't end up being 50 voices just asking who's who and then...
*crickets*
or just jibber jabber about whatever most-recent post inflamed us highly.
anyhow, hope to be there
Grym
shameless push.
Saturday December 15th should be fine. I just hope you don't set the time too late. And please post your timezone.
I would be available, just post the times. I'm EST, and good for most of the day.
Ooh yeah I like grymrayne's idea of having an agenda of things to talk about, maybe just the hot topics here on the forum?
Sure we could come up with an agenda. I do have multiple channels for this though, and I will likely make more before this event happens if we get a full 50 people attending. I'm sure having all 50 people crammed into one channel the whole time would be complete chaos so after introductions are made and a few pretty big topics are covered, I'm figuring some people may break off into other channels to talk in smaller groups. Hard to make many new friends in a channel with 49 other people all trying to get their comments in.
I can do the 15th, but I can’t go past noon, PST. And I am guessing it’s going to start well past that.
Hobbun wrote: I can do the 15th, but I can’t go past noon, PST. And I am guessing it’s going to start well past that. Yeah I actually remembered recently that I have a ticket to go see The Hobbit with some friends at 11am GMT-9. That's noon PST so I at least am gunning for something a little later in the day.
Heh, that's the reason I can't go later. I am going with 6 of my friends to catch an evening showing of the Hobbit.
And we are going to leave relatively early to get a parking spot in the (free) underground garage at the theater and grab some dinner.
I might be able to go until 2 p.m. PST, but would have to leave very soon after and not sure when my friends will start showing up. And besides, that will still be too early from what it sounds like on your showtime.
This sounds like an awesome idea, at first I thought this was a "Getting to know you" post. But this sounds like more fun. While my posts may not be popular, I'd love to have a chance to introduce myself and add tone and inflection to my words as opposed to just flat black and white text, which I'm told, I come off horribly in. 15th is good for me. :)
Its only about 4 days away. Hope many people can show up.
I think I'll actually be there after all.
@Andius: can you set the time now? It will likely be very late night for me and such things are better communicated to the wivey in advance.
Keovar wrote: I think I'll actually be there after all. Or maybe not, depending on when I get back from a holiday party. I'll try to make it for as much as I can.
Saturdays are my PnP days, so I'll likely be unable to make it.
Andius wrote: Lets do 5 pm PST. That would be 8 PM EST or 0100 GMT.
I will be online all night, unless my GF has anything to say about it. Saturday Nights are usually "our" nights.
If this is bad timing for a lot of people, why not reschedule?
I can make it later in the day but that would only work for PST people, Alaskans, and Aussies. The only other time I can think of is after Christmas.
I say push forward with this one and just do a 2nd in January.
I'll try to be there tomorrow, but I make no promises.
I definitely cannot make January 2nd.
I will be there tomorrow. We can plan another in January when the season isn't so event filled.
Bah, my PF game is saturday eve...
Well there are some people online right now. Like i said i will probably be here all night.
