Adding Fey Encounter

Skull & Shackles

So I got to thinking. Always a dangerous start. Follow me logice if ye dare . . .

Captn Hook is a pirate.
The PC's in this AP are also pirates.
Hook's nemesis was a fey like group of orphans led by a flying kid who was friends with a fairy.
This led me to think it would be fun to twist this up a bit and add something of a fey adventure to break up the some of the dungeon crawling, pirate trolling and in the later books running around trying to befriend or intimidate allies.

So any ideas to spice a twisted fey style loosely based on Peter Pan.

Maybe I have been watching too much Jake and the Neverland Pirates with my kids.

Some snippet ideas:

Perhaps Pan can fall in love with a choice PC in the most infuriatingly platonic fashion.
"Time to give you a kiss."
"At last!"
"Here you are: for my special friend."
"... What's this? A button!?"
"It's a kiss!"
(Sound of sneak attack)
As innocent as this may be, it may set up a deadly rivalry between the unwitting PC and the faerie who has always been Pan's ally and true love.

Pan and the Lost Boys don't grow up. Properly coaxed, they may lead/share with the PCs the secret of their eternal youth. And there you have your PotC 4: the Fountain of Youth.

Have fun!

Lots of good ideas for fey in general in this thread.

I *love* this idea! Maybe you could get some inspiration from Hesmene's Grotto, one of the islands detailed in Isles of the Shackles.

So my thinking right now is that there was once a powerful pirate lord (loosely based on Hook) who hunted a good natured trickster (loosely based on Pan, perhaps the illegitimate child of Besmara and Cayden) the trickster lived on an island demiplane only sometimes accessable from Goloraian. The good natured trickster rescued children lost at sea and brought them back to live on the island where they did not grow old. The Pirate wanted the secret of youth that could be found on the island (enter the flower that can keep you young that Bonefist and Thrune are after). After years of struggle the pirate was eventually eaten by the giant croc (not sure yet want it to be epic but dragon is too predictable) who previously had taken his hand. In is death throwes his sheer force of hate corrupted the whole island cursing it. The boy and the lost children are twisted mockeries of their former innocence. The once safe and adventerous island paradise is now a twisted and corrupt place of poison and dread. Once the PCs figure out what has happened. They must kill the Croc cut from its gullet the Pirate's hook hand and destroy it by some yet to be determined method breaking the curse.
