I tried to partition my 2009 13" Mac Book Pro to install Windows, and Boot Camp refused!

I'll be getting a nice, shiny, FAST new 15" MBP on Tuesday :) i7 Quad Core, NVidia graphics card, 16 Gigs of RAM, flash storage for the hard drive.....

Look out, goblins, here comes Johnny!

Sometimes, if the space is not continuous bootcamp will refuse. A defrag may do it. As will a shiny new MBP.

A "defrag" on this old machine would most definitely do it and is most definitely not worth my time.

Although, making sense of what defragging does, the larger files on my Mac are written across all the discs in the disk drive while the smaller files are clumped at the top. This increases write/load times for large since multiple portions of a large file can be read at once; but it eventually actually leads to inefficient dispersal of the larger files and small files and gaps in the disc space, known as "fragmentation," or something like that. And I will never have to worry about this again with my spiffy new flash storage :)

Just FYI for folks who want to get a new system to play the game, it's not hard to assemble your own PC.

Or your own Mac, if you're willing to Hack. Hardware is the thing though, you want to consult some good sites such as MacBreaker and TonyMac86.com. All you need to do is purchase a Snow Leopard Disk from Apple, and you can bootstrap yourself up to 10.9.4 with a bit of work and luck.

The PC I have available if a Mac client isn't quite ready for Sept 15 is thus:

HP G56 Notebook
AMD Athlon II P340 Dual-Core Processor
4GB RAM
Graphics: AMD M880G with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4250 so essentially shared memory (I think there is like 256MB dedicated and about 1900MB shared)

Tried this. Not surprisingly didn't go well. I was able to download the client, create a character and log in, but everything took a looonng time. I didn't actually check the fps but it was more of a slideshow. It would function enough to start the xp clock going and maybe tool around a safe area a bit if no one else near but would require a lot of patience.

I then bought a copy of Windows, learned how to set up BootCamp and have got things up and going on my Mac. I'll post specs and performance after I've had more of a chance to play around a bit but so far awesomsauce. Also using a Razer Naga set to "123" (drivers not loaded) and working well in combat.
