I'm beginning to wonder about Caydan

Pathfinder Campaign Setting General Discussion

I mean, Thais was his favourite prostitute, (IIRC) Thunder his favourite dog and he granted both power.

Did any other deity ever come along and cuff him saying "Stop uplifting things just because you like them!"

Else I'm picturing he made his favourite privy into a temple, his cup into an intelligent artifact, etc etc, just because he could :P

I'd say the one to protest the most against his little antics is Irori.

He was already a bit miffed about him becoming a deity by "cheating" in a sense.

Then again, I'm pretty sure his shenanigans is frowned upon by both Iomedae and Erastil as well.

But the one to actually set him back in line was probably Aroden, since he seemed to be the no-nonsense type of guy.

But that's what deities do. They uplift things because they like them.

Maybe he did it while he was still drunk? They never put in a good timeline for when these things actually happened, so I can see him stumbling out happy and drunk thinking "Damn I miss my dog and wish he was still here." Then suddenly, there's his dog! Then maybe he goes a bit nuts with the herald being a courtesan he liked; note she wasn't just a prostitute, and he adventured with her, not just because he "enjoyed her company." So he brings her back as one of the only heralds I've seen that actually argues with their Deity. His choices weren't perfect but maybe that's just who he is, and the other gods just aren't enjoying themselves enough :D

I imagine that as long as he didn't raise things to full on diety the other gods didn't care that much. I am sure all of the Gods have there own pet projects. Look at how much meddling Lamashtu has done, or Rovugug's spawn. Leap Hounds seem pretty minor compared to that.

Cayden is all about "Why? Because I could. If you want to go around and tell people what's badwrong, well, the temple of Asmodeus is ---> there! You can either preach to them, or join them - with that stick up your bottom you're gonna fit just fine :P"

Does Cayden know exactly what happened to him during the Starstone test?

For some reason I was thinking he woke up after a bender and found he had become a god.

I looked it up on the Pathfinder wiki, but it doesn't say. I would think if that were the case it would be mentioned, but it's plausible I guess.

I just am picturing him celebrating and causing chaos. "You always were my favourite girl. You know that dance you do, with the big feathers?" *poof* "Look, wings! And Six of em, cause you're hotter with six wings."

"Awww, what's wrong boy, did I throw the stick too far? Sorry it's because" *whispers* "I'm a god now." *louder* And I never want to lose you man. All dogs may not go to Elysium" *poof* "But you do! Who's a good divinely empowered doggie. Yes you are. Yes you are!"

Someone should start a comic strip about Golarion deities...

Aroden: Behold! I have raised Starstone from the depths of the sea and placed it in the temple of Absalom where the worthy ones can taste my cookies! *Places cookies of divinity on the table*

Norgorber: *sneaks behind the Aroden's back into the temple and steals the cookies of divinity from the table*

Aroden: Dammit! Who stole my cookies?! *bakes another batch of cookies and places them on the table*

Cayden: *stumbles into the temple while drunk* Ooh! Fina-hic-ly! Shom snnach tho my dr-r-r-ynk! *grabs some cookies*

Aroden: Dammit! Cayden, you washed down my cookies WITH ALE?! How could you! Ale does not suit them at all! What barbarian could eat cookies of divinity with anything less than Azlanti semi-sweet red?! When I will be blessed with worthy connoisseur?

Cayden: OHai shweetheart, wanna some? *shares the cookie with Thais before getting to bed with her*

Aroden: You shared the cookie of divinity with whom?!

Cayden: *licks his finger* That was helluva of a cookie! Oh, theres some cr-r-rumbs left... Hey, doggie-doggie, hey doggie-doggie...

Aroden: *facepalm* Why do I even bother...

Iomedae: *enters the temple passes the test, eats the cookie*

Aroden: with anticipation Well, how was it?

Iomedae: Well, a bit undercooked. It could use more cinnamon and some raisins. I would add Arcadian chocolate instead of Vudran coffee too.

Aroden: angered That's it! I quit! Bake them yourself if you think you can do better!

It's entirely likely this is exactly why he made her his herald.

By the way: if anyone would want to draw comic/pictures based on the true account of the three Ascension I have posted feel free as long as you link theme here or PM to me :D
