I think for the kitsune oracle you having an Amulet of Spirits would help out immensely. Your Life revelations and the spirit abilities from the wandering spirit would both go up 2 levels. Meaning your channels for both channel pools would go up another 1d6 and so forth. Great item for 12k gp.
Would it stack with her other items though? It says "This effect does not stack with other abilities that increase the effective level of mystery or spirit powers."

There's nothing to stack. The phylactery just gives a direct bonus to channeling. Not to the ability that provides it.

So far I see nothing that would increase the actual level of the abilities except this. As such, it works for both channel pools and anything else.

Now, if you wanted to, you could use UMD to emulate a revelation from another mystery, or from life, on a ring of revelation to gain the ability.

So then the question becomes, what does she give up for that?
Here's the value breakdown of her current gear.

The amulet of the spirits (life) costs 12,000gp. Unless she throws a fish or two back in the pond, she only has 50gp to spend.

(To say nothing of her amulet of natural armor +4, which already takes up her amulet slot.)

1 person marked this as a favorite.

If you drop the ring of protection to a +3 and dropped the amulet of natural armor to a +3 you'll pick up 28k gp. The amulet of spirits life will cost you 18k gp (since it's slotted with the amulet), leaving you 10k gp. Spend 5k gp on a dusty rose prism for a +1 AC bonus and you have 5k gp left over.

You'll lose 1 AC, but will gain an extra 1d6 to all your channels, and have an extra 5k go to spend. It's not ideal but it's the best I could come up with within the money constraints while leaving everything else.

You can also then get a mithral breastplate (agile) instead of the armored coat. Which would only add 2.5 lbs, which is 5.5 lbs shy of your light load for encumberance purposes. You'll gain more AC this way and have more AC then before the changes.

Finally, you can put on the restless enchantment on the armor for 4500 gp. So now you can sleep in your armor without worrying about donning it.

That is the best I could come up with quickly looking over everything. And you'll have 200gp tender!

I'm sure this has been asked in the thread a few times so apologies in advance, but damn this is a long thread!

If I wanted to look up all your druid builds, is there any way to search your character portfolio?

If there is, I am blind and didn't see it, sorry.

THE STARFINDER SISTER THREAD IS NOW OPEN!!!

As an aside, I may not be able to post over the next few days. As a lifelong Florida resident, I am in the direct path of Hurricane Irma and so may be without power for a while. On the off chance that you never hear back from me again, it's probably because I'm dead.

If that happens, I will be counting on you guys, the community, to keep these threads going as long as you can with your own creations. :D

No, I'm afraid there's no easy way to search the online files at this time. Here is a list of all the characters with druid levels currently in the gallery:

We also have several other nature-themed characters who do not possess druid levels. They are defenders of nature, are masters of either the elements or of beasts, or possess some connection to the First World. You can find them below:

  • Albert Franstein - NG male mongrelman hunter 8
  • Arbutus - LN male personality unique ghoran phytokineticist 18
  • Ariel Grimsby - CG female undine shaman 12 (speaker for the past)
  • Badbella - N female human geokineticist 9/mammoth rider 1
  • Bumiahma Britoris Orpheus - CG male venerable human sorcerer 1/enchanter 1/arcanist 10 (spell specialist)
  • Cúran - NG female elf oracle 8

  • Zwei - N male janni sorcerer 4/eldritch knight 10

Characters with asterisks by their names also have variants in the gallery (unchained variants, mythic variants, or simply different versions of the character with different class levels).

I hope that helps. :D

Well, that isn't entirely official.

I don't see why there would be that much issue with it. Your using UMD to emulate a class ability like normal. This has been brought up multiple times. So long as it's used for a revelation from a Mystery you don't have it should work.

As for official, there have been plenty of threads that have it FAQ'd, no response as of yet. Closest to official is this so far from what I've seen.

1. Glad to hear you're ok. My family and I also got hit by Irma. Luckily we are near Ft. Lauderdale so it wasn't as bad as it was supposed to be.

2. I think Tommy was referring to my mention of the Ring of Revelation use with UMD for the oracle. It's on the previous page to this.

Actually there now is a sortable list I put together over the weekend with some interesting stats.

The Emporium Data Sheet

If you are looking for a character of a certain level use the pivot table.
You should also be able to make your own copy and then sort the backend table by column to order the whole list by levels in different classes.

Hope this is useful to everyone.

I hope Ravingdork is happy with me linking this. I have been talking to him about it for a couple days, but he hasn't signed off on this yet :}

We could easily add a "theme" column to the back-end data and add a pivot table by theme.

The next beast I was going to undertake was to try make a class sort-able pivot table which is a nightmare because of the multiclass.
I suppose I could have a pivot table where it categorizes as a single class or as a multiclass.

There is now a pivot table by class
Whoot Whoot

Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Superscriber; Pathfinder Starfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber

Wow, that looks nice!

I noticed you included a group for multiclassed characters, but didn't include one for prestige classed characters. I recommend adding the latter group, and also putting the class breakdown in parenthesis next to the character's name for those two groups.

I think that will help with accessibility somewhat.

Thanks for doing this J4RH34D. I'm certain a lot of people will get a lot of use out of it.

Hmmm

Let me see what I can manage.

It is a pleasure.
I enjoy learning and I have actually learned quite a bit from working on this.

I have actually seen a couple people using the doc while I have been making edits

[EDIT] So, it seems you can use javascript functions in google sheets, which means I should be able to do this stuff without too much hassle once i have time to sit and do it

The pivot tables now have a class breakdown for each and every character.
Only took me an hour I should have been working :P

New NPC Villain: Ganon!

Ganon is an exercise in getting as many natural attacks as possible, but in a reasonable way (not trying to abuse odd magical items or obscure rules). In many ways, he's kind of a quintessential "vivsectionist/beastmorph natural attack alchemist" but that's okay with me. Ganon serves as a Dr. Jekyl/Dr. Frankenstein kind of villain very well; in that he is quite capable of performing all kinds of weird medical experiments on creatures. If you need a villain that would have kind of deformed, anthropomorphic animals or disfigured human medical experiments, then Ganon is your guy.

I have to be honest, I did think long and hard about naming him Shou Tucker... but I think that reference might be too obvious. Though if I ever get to use this guy, he'll be using it as his "human" disguise. Skinwalker's look like humans until they take on their animal forms; appearing as a human, he could be named Tucker, but in his true form, he is Ganon.

Combat wise, he's quite the monster. Tons of natural attacks on a pounce at that. He's a "buff and bash" style character, in that he can pump a lot of extracts to make himself nearly unstoppable. Bonus! A party that uses lots of piercing or slashing weapons will find him a nightmare due to caustic blood, which squirts out a blast of 12d6 acid damage any time he takes piercing or slashing damage. Stab Ganon 3 times, get blasted with 36d6 acid damage, and another 18d6 acid damage on the following round.

If you attack him, you kill yourself. If you don't attack him, he kills you... if you're lucky. He might just make you into one of his experiments :D

Plus, with his familiar taking half of all his damage, due to the Protector familiar archetype, and Spontaneous Healing on top of a buttload of hp, Ganon is a very tough beast and it won't be easy to bring him down.... Outside of Will saves anyway. That's his one real weakness.

Hey RD. Found a feat for Ord Zheng, that skill monkey fighter of yours; http://archivesofnethys.com/FeatDisplay.aspx?ItemName=Cunning

"You are particularly devious, and can master more skills than others in the same amount of time.

Benefit: You gain 1 additional skill point per Hit Die. When you take this feat, you gain a number of skill points equal to your Hit Dice right away, and every time your Hit Dice increase in the future, you will gain an additional skill point as well."

Ord Zheng already has Cunning as one of his feats.

Spirit Ridden is better. It gives you the same benefit, but you can change that skill every morning.

Ravingdork actually makes his sheets by hand. If you navigate your way into the tools section of the Gallery, you can find a blank charactersheet that you can open in MS Word or Open Office.

TOOL UPDATE

The Wild Talent Sorter tool for kineticist players and GMs has been updated to account for new abilities presented in Ultimate Wilderness, as well as the changes to existing abilities made in that book.

You can probably expect additional updates in the near future as it seems this book includes a lot of reprinted/altered material.

I know its been years since she's been made, but do you (or anyone for that matter) possibly have a build-by-level for Araonna Chorster? I'm trying to create someone similar to her in one of my games, but I'm having trouble figuring out the order to take feats, revelations, spells, etc at the early levels so I'm not just wasting my potential early game.

I usually build characters "at level" with little regard to how they got there (so long as it's possible), so I don't really have a build breakdown for you.

You would have as much luck reverse-engineering it as I would, I imagine.

I'm having a bit of trouble understanding Grey's saves and ability scores. Could anyone, please, enlighten me?

Also, shouldn't he take +33 on acrobatics checks when jumping and +51 when using disguise with perfect copy(should be a +20 bonus with perfect copy since the original doppelganger goes from +9 to +29)?

To determine the racial ability scores of monstrous characters, you deduct 10 from even abilities and 11 from odd abilities.

According to the Bestiary, a doppelganger's ability scores are as follows:
Str 18, Dex 13, Con 12, Int 13, Wis 14, Cha 13

This means a doppelganger PC or NPC gets these modifiers
Str +8, Dex +2, Con +2, Int +2, Wis +4, Cha +2

Using those modifiers, I built him like any of my other characters (using 25-point buy). Not that his scores also include adjustments for his 16 class levels and magical items.

As for his saves, he has +2/+5/+2 from his rogue levels, +3/+5/+3 from his doppelganger levels, and also +1/+4/+4 from his four monstrous humanoid hit dice.

With his ability modifiers and cloak of resistance +5, that adds up to +12/+29/+16 as shown.

Per the Acrobatics skill, he gains a +4 racial bonus to jump, due to his increased land speed. The value shown is correct.

He gets +10 to his Disguise skill, not +20, because his change shape ability acts as though it were alter self, which is a polymorph effect, and per the polymorph rules in the magic chapter, only grants a +10 bonus. It is not like previous editions of D&D where transmutation/polymorph effects gave you a +20 bonus and illusions granted a +10 bonus. Now they both only give a +10 bonus. The doppelganger stat block is in error and simply hasn't caught up with errata yet.

I hope that helps to answer your questions. :)

Crystal clear, thank you. I overlooked so many details but I guess that's what happens when you don't get to play for many months.

Per the Acrobatics skill though, he gains +4 racial and +5 from boots

Quite right. His jump modifier should be 5 higher. I'll be sure to correct it by day's end. Thanks for pointing it out. :D

The thought of working out every single one makes me cringe. That would be a HUGE undertaking. Too huge for me perhaps.

Most will likely be impossible to get terribly close until a few years into 2nd-edition, when a lot of additional content has been released.

In any case, I will definitely be trying out the new system to see just how many of my favorite characters it can faithfully represent.

I may also attempt a few others too, if the community speaks up, citing which ones are community favorites. I should see about setting up an online poll somewhere. :D

To share with the Emporium you mean?

If you follow the master link to my OneDrive, there's a Public Submissions folder you can drop them into.

I have a compliment and two questions for RD.

Compliment: your emporium is amazing! It looks like you've got over 200 well-designed characters in there, impressive.

Q: I just thought I'd ask since I don't know if I'll have the months I would need to look through every one: which of your characters would you say is the most devastating toward the undead (single target and multiple) while resisting or avoiding their worst abilities? I'm just going to hope he's also playable from 1 - 20. My thought would be a cleric or a ranger-type.

2nd q: I'm building a human pounce CAGM spell sunder barbarian, and having trouble figuring out feats/rage powers. I like the idea of taking a level of unbreakable fighter. Do you have any cool barbarian builds along those lines?

Also, wanted you to know I really enjoyed your Raven King character. Very cool. I'd love to play him if our DM allowed mythic!

J

Raving, it's been a long time since my last game and I thought I'd stop by when I saw this still existed to say thank you once again, and to note that I'll be doing some drop in drop out campaigns soon if all goes well. While I do, I'm planning on printing some on-level spare sheets to bring for people to sit down and enjoy, if you don't mind me printing a few of yours when they coincide with my intended play levels and watermarking your name on them?

By the way, impressive growth on the collection in the last year or so. I haven't seen it since Kineticists with Occult Adventures, so there's a lot of new stuff in here.
