Thank you Takhisis, you evil goddess you.

(Also, thanks for sending your draconic minions to kill all of my adventuring companions in the Dragons of Autumn/Winter/Spring quests. Don't you worry though, as my wizard Haylannar shall return the favor soon enough.)

Oh, and please be sure to tell all your friends about us here at the Emporium.

Odd question, but are we allowed to post our our character creations here as well? I'd -love- to show off Tsukiko, my Kitsune BBEG....because the lack of Kitsune in this thread almost demands it. Just have to format her into a nice pdf. I assume the answer is no and I should just make my own thread, but I wanted to be 100% sure.

Also, I look forward to the day your pitiful mage dares to turn his spells against my children. He will quickly learn just how fearsome they can be.

I especially love your chaotic good necromancer, who would expect a necro with that alignment! Anyway...keep up the good work!

Which one is that? I feel like Im missing because I cant remember ever seeing this one?

Araonna Chorster, her name was. She was a JuJu mystery Oracle with the Spirit Vessels revelation for animating non-evil undead, her alignment was listed as Chaotic Good.

I've answered this question twice (thrice?) before, but I'm not surprised that it keeps getting lost in the shuffle of such a large thread.

Yes, yes you may post your characters to this thread.

EDIT: However, any characters posted to this thread must follow the same legal rights and limitations as my own characters, as outlined in the opening post (and repeated below for convenience).

Your Legal Rights Concerning Emporium Characters:
Please feel free to use the following characters in your home games in whatever manner you wish (but please don't use them elsewhere, such as in your personal novel or movie title). /quote

Though it shouldn't have to be said, I will say it anyways: Do not claim the credit of other peoples' work.

Ok, sorry about that. In all honesty I didn't read through the entirety of the massive thread. I was too busy thumbing through all the epic characters in the OP. Once I format Tsukiko and find a good pic for her I'll post her here as well. Just one thing though, In the campaigns I use her in she has some....custom content. Nothing major, mind you, but she has a ported spell from 3.5e and a custom item. I have a version of her that doesn't use these things that I can post up, but I was wondering if I could post up the version of her using these things?

I'll also be posting up some other oriental inspired characters as well, and more necromancers because necromancy....eventually.

Not generally my cup of tea, personally, but if you clearly describe the homebrew content and list the v3.5 contents' sources, I'm sure the visitors to my Emporium will forgive you for your minor transgressions. ;P

Dark Archive

The ported spell and item where mostly to mess with and surprise players, to be honest. The thing is the character is heavily focused on enchantment, and since she is meant to be THE end-boss by the time one faces her the PCs are almost assured to have mind-effecting immunity which puts a damper on some of her more enjoyable spells. The custom item gives her a way to circumvent this issue and the 3.5e spell was largely for plot purposes as it was fluffed as a "beta" version of the massive spell she was planning to create for her endgame. However, she can be made without the custom item and ported spell, it's just that both had plot significance and in the case of the custom item it was made to actually make enchantment viable against a high-level party.(Though she certainly didn't need to depend on enchantment to win, it was her specialty so I thought it apporporate and particularly troll-y for her to have the item, and to boot it had plot significance and much of her time was spend trying to obtain said item in the first place.) Of course, to get around the need for the item I could always simply make a -mythic- version of her where her endgame actually went off and the bonuses of mythic should be more then enough to offset the fact that part of her arsenal is eliminated by high level PC wealth and mythic doesn't require custom content.

I've changed her alignment back and forth a few times. The game developers coming out and saying that undead should be, and should always have been, evil has made me...indecisive on the issue.

The errata to Juju Oracle didn't help anything either.

You mean when they printed a different juju oracle in another book that looked nothing like the original?

Developers have clearly stated that, that doesn't effect the old oracle in the slightest, which is why she remains in my gallery largely unchanged.

I think of it less like errata, and more like an expanded juju power list.

I made a few changes to Randy's build, it should have synced by now. Been having some connection issues with the laptop again... (RD, have you taken a look yet? I'm interested in your feedback.) Added a feat, as I realized I was missing one. Also tweaked him just a bit, nothing huge. Almost done stating up Marion, I'll post her tomorrow night or the night after. I'll put them both up in a separate thread at the same time, give you a little friendly competition. ;)

Not a whole lot though. Taking these fellows out of my head and my phone app and putting them on "paper" is a lot of work. I'll build a few more because it's fun, but I doubt I'll get anywhere near your 150+. :)

I would post the character I just made but It's only on a pdf and thats a lot of work to transfer...im imagining...

Ravingdork offers a fantastic charactersheet template: here. I use Open Office and it functions perfectly on it, though others have claimed otherwise (they probably need an update).

Some things to note, one of your first level spells should be Abundant Ammunition. Cast this and never buy another bullet. Consider getting a double-barreled pistol; it lets you fire two bullets on every attack, so you effectively double your damage. It does, however, impart a -4 penalty on each attack roll.

Any particular reason you don't have Deadly Aim?

Fantastic! That will make things so much quicker in the future!

I considered Abundant Ammunition. I still might swap out Alarm for it. I was just thinking if I was laid out in a sniper nest, I would want something to let me know it someone was sneaking up and getting ready to gank me while I was concentrating on lining up my shot.

I also thought about giving her a double-barreled pistol, but frankly I find them cheesy. I'll see how optimized my PCs are once they get around to facing off against her, I might do a last minute upgrade.

Two reason; 1) Didn't think about it, honestly. 2) Ran out of feats. Although I can't for the life of me think of why I put Mobility in there. I might swap out that for Deadly Aim instead.

*Edit* I put it in for Deft Shootist, that's right! I'm envisioning her being right in the thick of the PC front-liners, gleefully loading and firing, so I thought the more AoO I could have her avoid, the longer she lasts in that location.

Hama the Wondering Witch, the Body Snatcher, the Mind Bender, the Master of Curses, has undergone a major overhaul. I believe the change is for the better, strengthening not just her stats, but the depth of her background story as well.

Check out the exciting new changes here.

You won't find them there because they are setting specific. In fact, they're Society specific, as they are taught only to members of the Pathfinder Society.

Ravingdork: You seem to be very good at fleshing out character backgrounds and stories for future plot, and development. Would you be able to help me with an idea for background / future endeavors for a horizon walker character? Do you already have some good ideas for that class?

The PFSRD will include setting specific material, they just have to remove all non-OGL material. Like calling a Dawnflower Dervish Bard archetype the Dervish of Dawn instead.

It has some of the things from the Pathfinder Society Primer as it: Planned Spontaneity, Quick Preparation. It doesn't have Emergency Attunement, however; you can still find that at the Archives of Nethys.

You should check out Taur Thelyn, the gallery's resident horizon walker and forest warden.

Have you decided on the ultimate fate of Helegur's portrait?

Though I like the new alternate, I think I'm going to stick with the classic. It's more ominous/evil looking, which is much better suited to the character personality I had in mind.

Williamoak brought up an interesting question in another thread, which I wanted to repost here, since I thought others might share it:

williamoak wrote:
I still don't understand how she can do anything... She can't respect the somatic or verbal components of a spell, and has no abilities that allow her to posses anyone without it. I won't deny the interest of the character, but I don't understand how she can do any of what you attribute to her. So I'm fairly confused.

She uses her Silent Spell and Still Spell metamagic feats to cast most of her spells while paralyzed (or when being discreet).

For spells that can't benefit from those feats, such as magic jar which is too high level for such metamagic, she must first change her form into something that doesn't have any broken bones or severed nerves, such as a shadow (a form which is still capable of spellcasting as far as I know). Turning into most creatures would still leaver her paralyzed, which is why a shadow is ideal--it has no bones, nerves, or other organs at all.

That's why her background story says she possesses people through her shadow, which is really only true until she finds a healthy body from which she can cast spells normally.

As a merchant, she managed to get her hands on a mammoth, which is the body she possesses most of the time. Once within its body, she casts alter self to take humanoid form (dumping the beast's stats, but having obvious benefits). Once in humanoid form, she can use a command word to activate her greater hat of disguise, which lets her stay in said humanoid form indefinitely.

Her real body, as well as her circlet of persuasion, headband of alluring charisma, and Osirian spirit jars, are magically shrunk and stowed away in her locket via a binding effect. This way, she can better hide the secrets of her vulnerabilities while keeping them close at hand (should someone dispel her magic jar effect or something similar). Furthermore, minimus containment says nothing about the target being unconscious, so should she be forced to return to her body, she can cast spells from inside the locket (such as to project her shadow or renew magic jar).

Since magic jar says you use your mental stats and skills, her circlet of persuasion grants its benefits even though he host body is also wearing a headband item. Kind of a slot work around.

I've given this concept a lot of thought. Do you have any other questions about how something on this character works?

EDIT: If you've viewed the character before, you may need to refresh your browser to see the new changes. That may be contributing to your confusion. /edit

williamoak wrote:

Ok, I understand a lot better now. There are a few grey areas (like the circlet, whether shadows can cast), but as you're running this as the GM, I imagine you're giving consistent rulings for your players too, so it shouldn't be a problem.

I will admit there's also some vagueness about the spirit jars. But I'll figure that out on my own.

This character was designed for use as a PC.

The big thing about the Osirian spirit jars is that they allow her to keep her host victims trapped even when the duration for magic jar runs out. This is pretty important, since no one wants a confused wooly mammoth running around trampling everything (though even that is fairly unlikely since it is a trained beast of burden--and likely charmed whats more).

Still, not having an enemy escape your possession and getting his revenge is pretty darned cool, especially when you consider that she can keep up to three victims perpetually trapped (allowing her a great deal of versatility with the spell, provided she can get the three bodies about).

This one cracked me right up.

Too many to list. Many for the concepts or builds themselves, others for background and plot. So many choices I have as a favorite, but I think Bumi is my current favorite.

A:TLA reference #1 reason I love him.
Ranged character
Unconventional weapon/technique
Concept not only melds well overall but reflects the source so perfectly.

Other favorites are Deacon, Dayer, Sela Kurn, Helgur, Taur Thelyn, Blind Ganji.

Some of my favorites...

Raven King
Obrist Lang
Sloy Garak

Though my number one favorite is Father Grigori. Id love to see what a high level build say level 15 of him would look like.

My top 5 Characters:

1) Helegur
2) Yiankun Lee
3) Bumi
4) Lwaxana Lore
5) Araonna Chorster

Ah, yes. The "Doctor Doom" of my Pathfinder universe. He's similar to Syrania in many ways, though she is more akin to "Lucifer" then "Doom."

Joex The Pale wrote:

If you are referring to my Myrmidons, there's generally four of them, not six. And yes, they are quite nasty when pitted against most any melee-specialist. I find the CR to be a little swingy though. Against physical characters they completely dominate; against spellcasters, on the other hand, it's the spellcasters who usually win out.

blackbloodtroll wrote:

I'm glad. He's one of my more creative character attempts, I think. Making a neat high level character is easy, but trying to make a low level character with far less resources becomes much trickier--more so when it's an NPC with meager NPC gear.

Not at all; most familiars are tiny. A tiny-sized creature would be about the size of a housecat or maybe a newborn (which sounds about right for the rock-throwing ability). A skipping stone would be at least Diminutive, or maybe even Fine.

Personally, I'm a fan of Aroanna; the concept of using big zombies and such as mobility never even dawned on me, so she is definitely getting re-utilized for my upcoming campaign.

My use of Breadcrumbs was as a female, and a personality a bit like Tree Trunks from Adventure Time.

As I had sort of explained in the other thread, what you are comparing is the size of a weapon to a size of a creature. Though a physical characteristic of a creature determine its size and modifier, this does not compare to the size of weaponry.

A medium sized sling stone, a medium sized dagger, a medium sized warhammer, and a medium sized greatsword are all sized for a medium creature.

For a weapon-equivalent rock of medium size, it would be something that would be able to be picked up in one hand, much sized like a baseball. Going quarter-sized (half size to make it small, then half that to make it tiny) would make it "skipping stone"-sized.

As for the Bumi character, I am uncertain how you are getting 12 rounds of rage with a Level 1 dip into Barbarian and with a Constitution Score of 14. It would be 6 rounds of rage (4 Base + 2 CON)
