So, we had the follow up tonight and it was a roller coaster.

Grigori showed up to the noon invitation with 3 members of the upstanding/well-known citizenry that he's managed to sway to his way of thinking.

He came into the room with a Detect Thoughts up and all of my PC's failed the Will save, but knew something was up due to having to make the saves, but having no evidence of what actually happened. They got super paranoid about hidden people/things attending the meeting.

The Sorc (Magister) and Jhod were not in attendance as they were off investigating the legitimacy of the Fey problem reports (and the player was not able to make the session).

The verbal sparring from the previous night started almost immediately, but this time the Druid/Councilor took a more front-line role in the discussions. He made some very fine points, and tried to make his points of view relatable to everyone in the room. The High Priest was interjecting here and there, so I let him roll a "aid another" when I eventually called for a roll from the Druid/Councilor. Due to the well thought out remarks, I assigned a circumstance bonus to their collective roll, but they still couldnt overcome Grigori's 31 Diplomacy roll. At one point, Grigori attempted to Fascinate the 3 PC's he was talking to, but they all rolled very well. The ruler, a bard himself, recognized what Grigori was doing via a nice Perception roll and followed that up with a Countersong use of his own Perform (Oratory). The two bards got into a bit of a pissing match with each other for a little bit before the party druid finally had had enough and ordered the Warden (Kesten) to take Grigori into custody and gag him. Grigori tried his best to talk his way out of it, but was eventually taken into custody. The present citizens were somewhat taken aback and Akiros objected to such an obvious abuse of power until the King himself ordered him to stand down. Svetlana, the Diplomat, did her best to assuade the citizens of their concerns and whisked them away for some further discussions.

At this point it got very strange. The king asked Lily, the spymaster, to go confiscate all of Grigori's belongings (I figured he would have hidden the unused potions of undetectable alignment and the men sent to gather his things did not discover them) and for Akiros to go attend to some other matters so the remaining PC's could discuss the matter further in private. After much back and forth, then decided that the druid would step down as Councilor and that the High Priest and the King would go to Grigori the next day with an olive branch and apologize for the actions of the previous day and invite him to act as the Councilor on the ruling body of their kingdom. Their plan is to say the druid was dismissed from his role due to his actions and that he had set off on a personal vendetta to track down those that killed the previous general in the recent almost TPK. In reality, he's going to cast a spell to turn his wolf AC into a small statuette and then shapechange into a bird and mouse to track what Grigori does and try to catch him in the act of doing nefarious things.

The book doesnt mention any specific plan to report back on his successes, so I'm thinking he's not going to send any messages. I certainly dont intend for him to apply his respectable +4 to the kingdom if he accepts the role, probably only +1. But, I think he'd still try to somehow foster issues in the nation and during each even phase I'll give them a bonus negative event in addition to whatever normally comes up with some kind of roll for the other council members (and the druid from his reconnaisance) to determine the true cause.
