The Return of Valiant!

Comics

Is anyone else reading them?

I must say that Harbinger and Bloodshot are better than the originals. X-O Manowar and Archer & Armstrong are good too. Haven't read Shadowman yet, but the writing on these books has been pretty solid.

I've been reading them since the re-launch and I'm loving them.

I picked up most of the first issues when they came out and kind of half heartedly read them. But it wasnt until I attended Heroes Con in NC this year and attended the Future of Valiant panel there that I was sold on the book and gave them another read. I've been hooked ever since.

I also attended their Valiant Panel here at NYCC and it seems like theyve got nothing but good stuff coming up. I've cut back on a lot of my Marvel titles and have eliminated DC completely. I also pick up Invincible and Walking Dead, but I pick up ALL of the Valiant books.

DOOD, I didn't know you were at NYCC!! I was working there!! We should have hung out.

Not a huge Valiant fan, but Shadowman coming back is interesting. Anger at Marvel and DC is growing, so here's hoping they enjoy some fans from that debacle.

They relaunched Prince Valiant? o.O

Just mentioning that this has been the best comic relaunch yet. Every single Valiant book has been amazing, except Shadowman which has been real good otherwise.

Honestly these are some of the best written comics in quite a long time. For me Harbinger is at the top of the heap, followed by Bloodshot (who was never a favorite I might add) and XO-Manowar. Archer & Armstrong and Shadowman are great too.

What of ninjak?

Ninjak has been in XO for an issue or two. He will probably end up getting his own book. Personally, I've never found the character deserving of his own book. I probably would want to see a new Turok or Magnus Robot Fighter before a Ninjak reboot.

Unfortunately I think Dark Horse still has the rights to the Gold Key characters that appeared in the original Valiant Comics (Magnus, Turok and Doctor Solar). This is why those characters are notably absent from the recent relaunch.

Silver Crusade

The Valiant Universe kicks the crap out of DC and Marvel. They did it in the 90s and they are doing it again. Stories are great, the characters are great and the art is really good! This is what a comic book company should be!

They had some good stuff at the start in the 90s, but went downhill pretty fast. Possibly trying to do exciting! things to create buzz and sales.

There were total character reworks and giant crossovers and all the usual nonsense.

I've read a couple from the relaunch and haven't been too impressed.

Awesome books. I've been reading all of them. Right now my reading list is the Valiant books, Pathfinder, anything by Jason Aaron (Scalped, and Brian Woods (The Massive, Northlanders, and Conan the Barbarian).
