a Player in My group is a hex crafter magus with scorpion whip, she wants to take the nails hex, will she then be able to threaten and/or attack adjacent squares?
Alternaitvely, if she wore a spiked gauntlet, would she solve this problem without the hex, or would that count as having a weapon in her hand for things like spell combat with the whip?
How how spell combat/spell strike complicate or make things difficult with a whip?
Will her build work or complicate things?
I'n thinking her nails hex and scorpion whip will be a very viable build. She could even take eldritch claws feat as well, no?
Tell her it's a huge waste of time & resources.
If she's just trying to be armed for AoO's she should just put spikes on her armor and go from there. Mixing Natural attacks and iterative attacks on a 3/4 bab class that has as many options as a magus is just going to give her a headache juggling it all.

Agreed, she can just kick, knee, or elbow her attacks with armor spikes.
It seemed like a cool idea, but also seemed like it had potential to be a headache trying to figure something like that.
Now what about close combat?
The whip triggers AoO like a bow. Is there a feat (like close quarters thrower or the one for gunslingers, she can take to change that draw back?
Also if she is Making an AoO, but she herself triggers an AoO (with her whip) will that create an AoO chain (what about two whip fighters trying to whip each other? do they Keep AoOing until they run out of attacks? Lol)
I realize she should just use her armor spikes for this but I was just wondering in case it happened.
Also she was thinking about the Prehensile hair hex, and reskinning it so she could do the hair things with her whip. I didn't see a problem with it, seeing as her whip can be sundered or disarmed and the hair cannot so it's technically a drawback with no bonuses.... thoughts?
