What I like, the art work is good and they are very sturdy with bases in all sizes.
What I dislike. The same picture is on both sides. I prefer there be a front and backside , like my cardboard hero figures.
Was wondering if the other pawns are printed with the same picture on both sides.

The ones in the Bestiary box are. And it doesn't bother me at all since there isn't really a distinction between front and back in the combat rules anyway. And I think it's nice that all players around the table can have the chance of a proper view of the creature depicted, rather than just its back.

Also illustrating front and back differently would have the production cost skyrocket since one would need to commission twice as many illustrations. (or since most illustrations come from existing books have to commission at least one backside illustration for each different piece in the first place)

Agreed. I think my main complaint is I want more multiples, as the party goes up in level they face more creatures of the same type.

Also would like to see them go back and create pawns for the older adventure paths.

Otherwise I am excited by the product and am happy I subscribed.

More multiples means either an increase in price or a decrease in variety, neither of which appeal to me.

Maybe something like an alternative horde box would be nice, with only monsters that typically come in large numbers, like all sorts of low-level humanoids (Kobolds, Goblins, Orcs...), medium or small animals (wolves, dire rats) and other mooks (dretch, lemures)

Increase in price/ decrease in count/ variety... what we have is fine. It is 'cheap' so I can get going *NOW* instead of in 5 years of tight budget getting minis.

If I had all the minis, why sweat pawns? If I can't afford minis, at least getting started with more pawns (even at front-side only) is a better deal.

Just a quick question - buying the beginner box is the only way to get hold of the pawns in that box, right? There's no such thing as a "PC Pawns" set?

I believe the NPC codex will have pawns suitable for PCs.. I hope anyway.

As for no back on the pawns that is because they are printed specifically for this game. In pathfinder there is no 'facing" so of course their pawns would reflect that.

I hope so, too. Having said that, the Sainsbury's website in the UK had the beginner's box for £9, so I ordered it. It's been delayed a couple of times, though, so whether it will arrive is uncertain. And a quick search of their site now doesn't show it.

Presuming the artwork from NPC Codex are going to be in the NPC Codex pawns, they certainly will be good for players. The iconics are also in the book so decent odds they might be in the Codex.
