At Litko, you can create and order custom bases of various materials with their Base Maker. The quality seems good, but you'd save alot of money making your own.
I like to use tin because it's durable, fairly inexpensive and heavy enough to keep large minis from falling over. All you need is a pair of tin snips, and you can cut the sheet to whatever size you need. Cardboard, especially from pizza boxes, is a good alternative if you can't afford tin or don't have something to cut it.
My brother is quite good at fabricating, and painting miniatures, so while some of the available Huge, Gargantuan, and Colossal minis are very nice, custom ones are preferred.
The wood ones seem neat, but I was hoping to find some plastic ones.

Gargantuan and Colossal seem the hardest to find.
Once painted and decorated, you are not going to be able to tell whether a base is wood or plastic. I've had bases made of foamboard that once finished just looked like any other mini.
The only other thing I can suggest is go to a craft store and/or home improvement store and shop around, you may find some item of the right diameter that will work appropriately.
So if they manage to get to the next target of $50k, you can get 75 Medium Bases & 8 40mm Bases. Along with a 'Egg-base' & a 'Grub' Mini. Wow, that's a good deal.
