It looks like the contingency plan for when my Kingmaker/Skull & Shackles group can't play will be PFS games. I think it will be fun to run the Year of the Ruby Phoenix as an ongoing campaign, but I can't them in numerical order because of fluctuating tiers. Does anyone have any advice on what order I should play the scenarios to maximum continuity effect?
Are you looking to give out Chronicle sheets, or just use the scenarios in a home game environment, Ryan?
So, you'd want to begin with Blood under Absalom, and end with the Ruby Phoenix tournament module.
In between --
Get the doobis that makes people into beast-men (Tide of Twilight)
Get the doobis from a monastery (Quest for Perfection 1, 2, 3)
Get the doobis from the guy in Katapesh (Ghennet Manor Gauntlet, 5-9)
Persuade the centaur to be the Society's entrant in the tournament (Kortos Envoy, 7 - 11).
That last one is problematical, of course. You go to a lot of trouble to get an NPC to represent the Society, and she doesn't even bother to show up.
I don't see a good way to string all these together, Ryan. Even if you use "Kortos Envoy", you've got 4 adventures at low level, and then only two more adventures to bridge the gap between 5th level and 11th.
Yep, we'll be running these as PFS home games, Chronicle sheets and all. They will be using these characters at the FLGS too and in any PFS games they choose once we're done First Steps, I just thought it would be more fun to play through a metaplot rather than just play random scenarios.
Looking at the numbers, at least there is an upward progression in tiers. As long as the scenarios I run in between do not spoil the metaplot or contain a metaplot of an earlier season, I can see this working.
Thanks Chris!

Awesome. I was looking to run this arc too. We are new to the PFS and I wanted the local players to get a taste for the setting and what is happening. Figured start with this one.
Do either of you have suggestions on what to run in between?
Well, the question is, are you looking to take characters from level 1 all the way to The Ruby Phoenix Tournament? You would need to run about 27 scenarios to get to the lowest tier for that module. And you don't want to play it with a party of 10s.
Running them through the Ruby Phoenix Tournament module was part of my plan. If it takes 27 scenarios, though, it will take us forever to get that far at our current pace.
