Its both. It was wierd, cause last month on vacation, my mother was constantly referring to him as her "future son-in-law" even though he hadn't popped the question yet. Then we found this ring last night and he saw how much I loved it, and I never swoon.
Should there be a tardis or a dalek on the cake, and should the ushers wear fez's? What color goes good with blue?
Remember, the groom's cake is where it is acceptable to get "crazy" with the Dalek topper.
Keep the folks happy with a more traditional wedding cake ... let the groom's cake be the silly one.
You and your hubby can enjoy the inside joke as to who the "groom's" cake is really for. ;)
EDIT:
For a unique chapel to get married in, take a gander at where Missus Turin and I got hitched. The place is absolutely gorgeous mid-to-late spring and probably again in mid-autumn when the leaves turn.
I may be able to get away with a but more than normal, we are both SCAdians. That's how we met. He may not wear a traditional tux, more of a fancy tunic. if I can find a design that looks 'normal'. Maybe go a bit renaissance with the suit. He wants to get away with wearing a sword. I'm not stopping him. His mother might.

After more research, that dress is an Alfred Angelo within our budget. I'll have to find out if a shop near here has one I can try on, I don't like buying something without trying it on first.

Whoa, that is awesome looking.
It's even better in person. I'll root around and see what I can find about where we went on our honeymoon and the cool places in the area.
There's some REALLY neat stuff out there!
Oh, and I'll be sure to linkify the butt-kicking bakery that did our cakes when I do all of this stuff.
I'm hoping Nepherti gets some ideas from these. ^_____^
EDIT: Unless Nepherti isn't interested, of course. Then I'll dribble them in one of my CJ's.
