Second point as a swing stater I haven't heard of any issues in my state well none that aren't currently being settled by a court of law.
Virginia, a guy working for a firm got caught throwing out voter registration forms.

I live in New York,a state where the average voter is so disenfranchised that only Jim Crow could be worse, except that it might be more honest.
I can't think my vote would be worth any less except in places where the ballot boxes are stuffed to begin with.
Why? I don't understand?
Are you not allowed to vote?

Not for anyone who matters.
In the New York State Senate and Assembly, almost all the power is concentrated in the hands of the majority leader,to the point that one of these two people can single-handedly kill any bill they please. The rank and file basically does what they are told, and the opposition party has about as much power as the public watching the proceedings. I am not in a district that gets to vote for either one of them. Our governer (who I can at least vote for or against) isn't up for re-election until 2014.
In addition, New York is so solidly in one column for the presidential election that the outcome on election day is determined during the primary.

Odd, I was pretty sure that the challenger was the lesser evil ;)
Seriously though, I dislike Romney almost as much as I dislike Obama and I wish it didn't come down to a choice between those two, blah.
You need to take a look at their platforms and histories. It is not reasonable to dislike one as much as the other unless you really don't care about 90% of the issues at stake in this election.

Your vote literally counts as much as anyone else in your state. What you're complaining about is that your neighbors overwhelmingly align themselves with a different political philosophy than you do.

Rhode Island passed a voter ID law this year. I took my Social Security Card. It's on the list of accepted forms of ID, but has no picture and reads Do Not Laminate. The woman searching for my name in the big book said, "you don't carry that around with you, do you?"
"No," I said, "I brought it special. I wanted one that didn't have a picture on, which you're not allowed to laminate."
That card was issued so long ago that my signature has changed. But no one checks the signatures these days, so I went into a booth and voted against anyone on the ballot who supported Rhode Island's voter ID act.
That's democracy in action; I love you, America.

I think he was more complaining about the state issues. I've heard similar things about NY politics.

I live in Brooklyn. One of my best friends lived and worked upstate for many, many years. Their hatred for us is palpable. I have NOTHING against upstate folks- we live in the same state after all- but I would understand if they wanted us gone for tax reasons alone.

Getting to pick which testicle they hammer a nail through doesn't really feel like a choice.
One of my neighbors voted for Roseane.

It is looking like a good night. Florida may be too close to call, but Obama probably doesn't need it. Enough of the other swing states are leaning strongly towards Obama.
Closer to home, Chris Murphy easily beats Linda McMahon. $100 million of her own money thrown away in 2 Senate races. Equally good, it's an official farewell to Joe Lieberman.
Elizabeth Warren beats Scott Brown as well. She'll be a good voice in the Senate.
And Mourdock, of "pregnancy from rape is a gift of God" fame loses what would have been an easy race.

I finished playing D&D, came home, and walked in the door to Scott Brown's concession speech. Sayonara, sucker!
Now, I can spend the next six years bashing the "friend of labor" who has to be bribed to come visit our picket lines. Yay!

Huh, I never realized he was so big.
He came to a couple of our parties, and hung out with us at Occupy NH (he was the one who held up the "Welcome President Bush" sign when Obama came to town). Funny dude.
One of my current comrades was talking about him one day and he said, "You know, so many people like him [VS], it's too bad he doesn't have a real message." I replied, "But he does have a message." "Yeah, but his message is that politics is nothing but a sick joke." To which, of course, I replied. "And?...."

Have you contacted your local registrar? Or your local party office might be able to help. They want you to vote.
I'm a Colorado resident living in Montana, so that wasn't an option. I never did get my ballot, so I didn't get to vote in this election. At least the election went how I wanted to vote for the most part.
