Disclosure to the others: Russ and I have had the pleasure in a previous life of experiencing a slice of that life as Iksars. For me, it was a monk and for Russ, a shadow knight. We went through some of those rituals mentioned. It was awesome!

Yar, playing the iskar shadowknight was a blast. Despite everything going against the iskar, they still survive and thrive. And if they ever have/get a Emperor, they will reclaim Kurnak once more. The council is only barely holding them together. Of course, their more interested in their own ambitions, as opposed to rallying the iskar. The war that is taking place is a perfect opportunity for the rulers to near open attack, and then blame the elves.
Getting all the softskins out of Kurnak, namely the elves, would probably do a lot to return them to there current war against... everything else on Kurnak, lol.

Now that the group has seen 10 levels of play and has opened up their city for all races/classes, I'm doing the same for the game. I am now permitting any class, race or alignment, but the onus is on you to come up with the strong reason why your character wishes to join the group. Ponder it and let me know if anyone wants to don a different outfit.
In the interim I'm going to throw the game on a brief hiatus.
EverQuest has a long tradition of alts (alternative characters distinguished from one's "main" character), and in latter years of "boxing" (one person running two characters at the same time).
Now that the group is smaller, I am going to consider taking your guys up on previous offers of running two characters, as well as considering character changes.
Please post here if either is something you are considering, and if you're going to pull the trigger this would be the time to discuss what class/race that new character could be. Don't take Fenris into account in your decisions, my NPC is mainly an intro to a race/class, rather than a permanent fixture in the game.
Aside: if the group wants to fight about the phial, discuss their strategies, or whatever, feel free to do so while the game is on pause. You can get up the ramp, out of the water, and have a few minutes before anything happens/someone comes by. I'll describe the sights when I put the game back in gear.
I'm down for bringing a second character. it would allow me to bring back Velkuriss and not sacrifice the fun I am having with Sajeek :)

No rush, I know we're both pretty slammed right now. Ponder it and throw some ideas in here.
Iksar is an option, but so are all the other races/classes, just make sure that the race you want to play can be the class you want.

Keep in mind: The onus will be on you to create second characters that have sufficient motivation to join Pravus and will also not be complete headaches to the others. I will give you an opportunity to find each other (the second characters will be in an iksar jail) and then after that the magic is yours and yours alone.
So Mike, I was thinking, if you are planning on playing a certain iskar monk, that being jailed was our reward. They had collected the emperor's beating heart. Instead of being part of the glorious return of the Emperor's bloodline, they were thrown in jail to rot. They weren't killed on the off chance that they might come in useful as cannon fodder or something.
As far a Velkuriss is concerned, that would pretty much be the final straw for the shadowknight. He already knew that the Council was tearing the Iskar apart with their petty scheming. After their "reward," he wants to see the Council torn apart. I'm sure his resounding defeat at the hands of whomever captured them clued him into the fact he isn't able to help his people.
As far as I remember, the 2 were not particularly hateful towards non iskar. Both were interested in trying to help their race in their own ways. And they did travel successfully with non evil softskins :)
I think that a key for V joining Pravus Mortis would be the Shissar. While on Norrath, they are the bogeymen from lone ago. However, as Sajeek knows, they are alive and well on Luclin. And of course, there is that whole "They are Returning" thing with the Shissar :) Other then that, V's only real plan if he got of jail would to be join the Outcasts. Not a whole lot of options on Kurnak otherwise :P
Interesting idea - I like it. I was thinking either Kspress, or someting completely different like an Elf Ranger. But Kspress was not evil, I think, or doesn't have to be.
The two Iksars would have to effect change in their race in a different way - maybe a grassroots movement. Someday...
The world is thine oyster, play whatever race/class you want (any race of slaves could be in the jail), as long as they can play nice with the group.

The new characters will be raised up to level 10 and have the same influx of cash that the group did. You'll knock over an armoury, or find their gear, or whatever on the way out.

One thing to consider, and I hate to lubricate your parade, but 6 player characters will result in me exiting Fenris and likely any useful character in the group. That will leave you without a healer. Russ, if you were wanting a porter you can have Fenris if you want (my version has spent nearly all his money on spells though).

Do you mean the bonus points to even the group out?
If so we take the XP negative for certain races and give it as a bonus to the attributes of the others in the group.
I thought there was a separate bonus for non-spellcasters?

Yes, the second characters will start together in a prison, and can introduce themselves. You've all been in there for years, and have been brutalized your entire time.
You're all in the same cell, and have nothing. You are naked, skin and bones (no stat loss, just roleplaying flair), covered in your own filth, and are malnourished.
For ease you have all been thrown together within the last few days, and have not talked yet.

As a heads up my NPC, if there is one, will be a non-combatant and really only for roleplaying fluff, so don't expect ports or heals or buffs or anything (might be a madman, or a ghost, or a fey, or an imp, or...).

Yes, he has all the information that came of the previous game, though he was arrested shortly afterward, his mission a failure, and is considered a traitor by his people.
Question about multiple ranged attacks: Are the EQ rules for throwing javelins, for instance, the same as PF, I.e., you can throw two in one round as a full round attack if you have multiple attacks per round, but only if you have the quick draw feat? I looked through the PH but couldn't find anything. What about if you have the javelins in hand already?
