For something like a spyglass, which requires precise, calculated dimensions, I think a DC of 30 is more appropriate. So you can't really expect to know ahead of time what they'll be. I'm planning to use this ability in PFS, but I can't find any guide to what the Craft DCs might be (or even which craft skill to use for various items!) I'm planning on making mostly tools - will Craft (Tool) basically cover everything, or will I need more specific craft skills?</p>
<p>For example, how can I estimate the approximate DC for:</p>
<p>Hammer (5 sp)</p>
<p>Mirror (10 gp)</p>
<p>Masterwork Thieves' Tools (100 gp)</p>
<p>Spyglass (1000 gp)</p>
<p>I think this is a really neat ability in principle, but the fact that it seems to be deliberately vague is making it difficult to foresee how it will play out in PFS!
