Me and a few friends are collaborating on a grand project to run Rise of the Runelords, Curse of the Crimson Throne and Second Darkness simultaneously, followed by Jade Regent and Shattered Star.

I'm wondering how much time should pass between the first three campaigns and the other two, or how much time passes between the individual paths. The biggest thing I know would be affected by this is Shalelu, since she's in three of the six campaigns (RotRL, a cameo in SD and as a major part of JR). I just would like to be prepared for how Varisia has changed in the wake of the heroics of three heroic bands of adventurers who averted three massive disasters.

Thanks for any advice! :)

The "official" answer is that about 5 years passed between RotRL and Shattered Star. Each AP theoretically takes place in the year it was published +2800, so it goes RotRL (4707), CotCT and SD (4708), Jade Regent (4711), Shattered Star (4712).

That said, you can really make the gap however large you want. Golarion purposefully doesn't have much of a metaplot in order to account for the various ways APs can go. Shattered Star talks a little bit about what might occur, such as the events of RotRL inspiring new interest in Thassilonian ruins and the effects of CotCT on Korvosa, but it is easy to change around (assuming the good guys won, of course). Let your first set of campaigns run, then figure out how those heroes might have changed things from there.

Also, I wouldn't worry too much about Shalelu. As an Elf, she has a good 50 years or so of youth left. Ameiko would seem like a bigger issue, with her silly human lifespan and tendency to get into trouble.

I'm doing something similar, running concurrent RotRL and CotCT games with (mostly) different groups (one person is in both). I'm tempted to have a crossover of sorts at some point, but may wind up just having rumors of different events pass between the games. After CotCT another GM is going to run JR with that group (and me as a PC) while after RotRL I plan on throwing SS at them.

That's a big help! Thank you for the info! :)

Wouldn't Ameiko be gone from Sandpoint after Jade Regent?

Shalelu and Ameiko would both be gone. Though, that is not to say that either of them couldn't make a return.

Yes.. and? Zousha wanted to run the first three simultaneously, then the second two, and was worried about the time between them. How does Ameiko leaving in Jade Regent have anything to do with that? Sandpoint doesn't appear in Shattered Star as far as I know.
