Getting the Band Together (The All Bard Party)

Advice

It's often said that a bard can fill any role - let's put that to the test! Post your greatest all-bard party. No multiclassing. Or, just post your best specialist bard (one that is less redundant with other bard builds.)

Lead Singer (melee support):
Janiq the Singer
Halfling Celebrity/Sound Striker/Songhealer (Adaptable Luck, Ingratiating)
str 14, dex 14, con 10, int 7, wis 12, cha 18
weapon: longspear
feats: Lucky Halfling
traits: Helpful, Charming

Drummer (tank):
Fiedrich the Drummer
Half-Orc Arcane Duelist (Toothy)
str 16, dex 12, con 14, int 8, wis 10, cha 14
weapons: falchion, bite
feats: Power Attack
traits: Poverty-Stricken, Reactionary

Backup Dancer (striker):
Zenser the Dancer
Kitsune Dawnflower Dervish (Gregarious)
role: striker
str 7, dex 18, con 14, int 7, wis 10, cha 16
weapons: scimitar, bite
feats: Power Attack
traits: Indomitable Faith, Strength of the Sun

Accordionist (archer):
Jelkins the Accordionist
Human Street Performer
str 14, dex 16, con 12, int 8, wis 10, cha 16
weapon: composite shortbow
feats: Point-Blank Shot, Rapid Shot
traits: Power of Suggestion, Aspiring Bard

Fiddler (controller):
Bernald the Fiddler
Aasimar Archivist (Middle-Aged, Immortal Spark)
str 14, dex 13, con 12, int 16, wis 10, cha 18
weapon: whip
feats: Weapon Focus (whip), Dazzling Display at 3rd
traits: Innocent, Theoretical Magician

I figure you want an archer to be a singer to keep their hands free to shoot.

During combat he'll sing for his performance. In fact, the whole party will take a rank in Perform (sing) so they can aid another on performance checks. The accordion is for out of combat (I have to say I love the flavor of playing the accordion so obnoxiously and distractingly that your teammate can actually disappear.)

I think your backup dancer is suffering from a cut and paste error. Bite? 7 Str and Power Attack?

I do like the group. We have been talking of doing something like this for the next AP we run.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Drummer should dual wield clubs/light maces instead of the falchion.

Kitsune gets a bite attack as a racial ability. The power attack...I can't explain with the 7 str.

+1 to this idea.

As Cold Napalm said, the bite attack is from being a kitsune (and synergizes quite nicely with his Dervish Dancing ability.) The Power Attack is my error, I forgot about the strength prereq (I'll replace it with Arcane Strike.)

Compromise: flail and heavy shield? (I also messed up his stats, he should have 18 strength instead of 16.)
