but hardly any rogue talents scale with class level, if that's the artificial judge of value being imposed.
taking the non-scaling powers Animal Fury (bite, grapple stuff), Fiendish Totem (gore) give two bonus attacks at -5, reducable to -2 with feat, which seem hugely synergetic with Bane and a reduced BAB. Besides other non-scaling powers. sure, they aren't benefitting from a class ability, but if they are effective, who cares? if he feels like RP isn't useful then, just m-classing barbarian and inquisitor can work just fine with less hassle.

the build is theme based, RP is for the spirit guardian and building the whole reason the character exists at all. the annoyance is just throw away rage powers.

I feel the whole "go more inquisitor and less barb" if there wasnt the need in his concept to wade into crowds of enemies with impunity (and thus he needs improved uncanny dodge)

fyi,
if you go life oracle and take energy body (whose rounds/day scale with RP),
you become immune to a load of stuff (you gain elemental sub-type)

Quote:

Immunity to bleed, paralysis, poison, sleep effects, and stunning.

Not subject to critical hits or flanking. Does not take additional damage from precision-based attacks, such as sneak attack.
Elementals do not breathe, eat, or sleep.

you can also swift-action heal(cure spells) and also pick up channel energy.

It does sound like the Spirit Totem line of rage powers would fit this guy. I've a player with the Lesser Spirit Totem and Spirit Totem rage powers on his Barbarian, and they're very nice. We tend to call the Lesser Spirit Totem once-per-round attack his 'ping damage', but it's surprising how often it comes in handy to finish off a bad guy you'd otherwise need to waste another normal attack on.

yea, we see those, and weve done a rage prophet in this group with that set up already (serpents skull AP like right when APG came out) trying not to replicate if possible. Trying to keep the inner spirit possession "inner" was hoping to find something mobility flashy swash buckly, but those two are a good back up. wouldnt negative energy just heal undead enemies? do you have the option to NOt let the spirit attack? or just hope it misses?
