Pathfinder Society® General Discussion

Grand Lodge **

Are there any rules anywhere for how the Street Performer archetype's Gladhanding class feature works on day jobs checks?

I believe the accepted interpretation is it doubles your earnings, as per the class feature. No exception has been made in the Additional Resources list around it.

There has been one or two threads in the past about it, and at the end of the day it's just a few extra thousand gold over your whole career IF you take it all the way to retirement AND you have the Prosperity boon.

In my personal opinion, as a bard player, it's not worth it for what you give up from vanilla bard.

edit: ninja'd :) thx for link

I've actually thought of making a street performer, only for optimal use of my "Day Jobs of even higher than on the table (within 2 steps) results get even more money" convention boon. The thought of using any bard archetype that drops Bardic Knowledge AND Versatile Performance makes me feel dirty inside, though, less so now with the Improvisation feat for humans from the ARG, though.

bolding mine.

Street Performer doesn't replace Versatile Performance, S.P. still gets it.
Replacements for S.P. are as follows...
Disappearing Act replaces inspire courage.
Harmless Performer replaces inspire competence.
Madcap Prank replaces inspire greatness.
Slip through the Crowd replaces inspire heroics.
Gladhanding replaces countersong.
Streetwise replaces bardic knowledge.
Quick Change replaces lore master.

I've found Street Performer to be a fine archetype. not the same as a plain bard, in some ways better (the ability to take 20 on a bluff once per day, for example) some ways not as good (the lost of bardic knowledge).
