HP and Hardness of Entrap

How do you figure this out? I usually see Hardness 5 HP 5, or hardness 8 hp 30. Where do you get these numbers? The description of the ability definitely doesn't tell you.

It is helpful if you post the source or the quote for entrap. Makes it easier for us so we don't have to dredge up the data.

Anyhow, Entrap (Bestiary 2) does not have any information to suggest what determines the hardness and hitpoints. There MIGHT be some correlation between Entrap and something else somewhere but I doubt it.

I'll make sure to add sources next time.

It's too bad that we aren't given the information we need.

Why do we 'need' it? The only reason I can see a person might need it is if they were modifying or constructing a creature that has that ability.

Perhaps you can run it by JJ to see if he knows how it is determined. My guess is that it is based on nothing but 'monster balance'. If the ability is stronger then the CR is higher, lower = lower CR.
