About buying RPG pictures / paintings....

Gamer Talk

Hi all!

I'm looking for RPG pictures/paintings I could buy on Internet to decorate a playing room. What I'd like is big paintings (up to 1 meter wide), but until now my search was unsuccessful :( Would anyone has a good URL for me?

Thanks in advance!

Cheliax

Try the individual artist's pages on deviantart a lot of them sell prints.

Is there anything in particular you're looking for? RPG pictures is pretty vague. Are you looking for landscapes, scenery, cityscapes, fantasy battles, monsters, knights, magic users? Heck, tribal art, Arabic art, traditional Asian paintings, and even robots can be considered RPG pictures under the right circumstances.

Thank you both for your comments :) Buying directly from DeviantArt artists themselves would probably be out of my budget (I was hoping to be able to buy reproduced prints in place of originals), but if really I cannot find that "cheap way" I'll probably follow your advice.

And about what I'm looking for, it's more landscape I'd like to find, because it would automatically give an "open space" atmosphere to the playing room which, being in the basement, has no window already. And yes, I should have said "heroic fantasy" and not "RPG", as indeed the place is supposed to hold PathFinder games ^^

OK, I found a quite good place for what I was looking for: www.allposters.com ^^

Comic book stores often have posters or wall hangings themed around exactly what you're looking for.

Just as another Idea, if you want a real good "Authentic" look for a game room.

Find a Pic that you like and want on your wall.

Go to Walmart and have them put it on a "woven photo blanket"

For like 80$ you get a HUGE wall tapastry.

It looks real as the immage is actually woven in and is really cheap for what you get.

For prints of the art check out deviantart, as a lot of artists post their work there and link to a way of purchase.

If you want the real thing, check out the big cons. Some of the major artists sell limited addition lithographs of their work. One of my friends picked up three original pieces (1 of 50 signed lithographs) from the Eberron setting at Gencon one year to decorate his gaming room.

If you do not own the rights of the image, please do not do this. 1 Hour Photo places and retailers with photo services have to abide by copyright laws to protect the original artist or copyright holder of the image. Both the customer and the retailer can be held accountable for stuff like this.

Chris: Does the community use document allow us to print allowable images using third party services as long as we don't modify the images in any way that breaks the community use doc or use the images commercially. If we can't use third parties, can we print it ourselves?

I listen to Walmart and Sams operators all the time while I'm helping them over the phone. They are very serious about these things as they WILL be fired if they're caught intentionally ignoring copyright. So don't put them on the spot that way.

What RoboChris says. If you like the artist's work, please check to see if they do prints.
