Fatigue / Exchastion

If I am immune to Fatigue, but not to Exhaustion, how can some thing every cause me to be exhausted without being fatigue 1st?

I cannot find a situation I THE RULES that would cause such a thing to happen.... therefore granting me, indirectly, immunity to Exhaustion too?!?!?

Thanks,
Morlaf

What grants immunity to fatigue but not exhaustion? The only references i can find actually give you exhaustion immunity first, then fatigue immunity.

That being said -- if there were such an item or ability -- a strict reading would dictate (I believe) that you're still susceptible to Exhaustion. They are two separate conditions, and can be gained independently, especially if they can gain immunities separately.

I'd be interested to hear other opinions/interpretations, though.

Can anyone think of anything that can take you straight from "A-OK" to "Exhausted"?

The spell Waves of Exhaustion comes to mind...

The only one I know off the top of my head would be the martial artist

Martial Artist:

Extreme Endurance (Ex)

At 5th level, a martial artist gains immunity to fatigue. At 10th level, he also gains immunity to exhaustion. At 15th level, he gains immunity to stunning. At 20th level, he gains immunity to death effects and energy drain.

This ability replaces purity of body, diamond body, and perfect self.

Generally Immunity to Fatigue would disable the possibility of gaining Exhausted Condition normally because you have to be Fatigued to actually be Exhausted in the first place, however spells such as Ray of Exhaustion circumvent that possibility and make you Exhausted immediately.

Fatigue and Exhaustion are two different conditions.

Do note that Immunity to Fatigue is something which only special subjects have. It means literally that you never ever need to rest, a quality that most undead have for example.
