Playing up again, Bryan? It's not hard to put a character down when the player's got a deathwish ;)

Congratulations Steve, you've made it to base camp. 50 more to close the deal!

Wait... I was told there was no more room up top, but they had plenty of space in the bowels of the Base Camp that would be a great location for me to use my skills of dodging all the dung you guys at the top always fling at me...;)

Wow...time keeps on slipping into the future, doesn't it?

Note: I'm positive that I'm the first person in the history of time to make a joke on Mr Miller's name. Bow down to my great wit!

The Exchange 2/5

woo-hoo, Steve!

EDIT: (hope to get my second at millercon!)

5/5

Millercon?

D'moon, there's no room at the top.. for you.

I can only hope that some day I have to opportunity to play at Steve's table. Congrats Steve!

Hey, Steve! You've run 100 tables or so. Got any advice, any lessons learned during those 400 hours, that you'd be willing to share?

That's not us. We encourage the yetis to feel free to express themselves. If you would stop cartwheeling around they wouldn't throw that filth all the time. Of course if Todd would stop ordering meatlover's pizzas with extra cheese the yetis wouldn't have so much ammunition.

Oh Doug, stop being so jealous, you will always have a place in my heart for killing my first character.

Steve was a great DM by the way, his use of outside sources plus pictures really enhanced the game.

The Exchange 2/5

I concur. I've always had fun when Steve was the GM.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Congrats!

Congrats, Steve!

I also have enjoyed the games Steve has run, even when my character is being shredded.

A couple of years ago he ran "lost at bitter end". we were in a particularly nasty encounter

and whenever he rolled initiative for this monster he would cheerfully say

Spoiler:
Kitty!

I think my character will be scarred for the rest of his life (at least until he got raised from the dead again)

Our characters just just got through (survived) the Eyes of the Ten Arch which Steve ran, and

My mystic theurge character finally got access to 5th level spells. I had allot of fun when my

character got to summon a celestial dire lion whom he named Aslan, and I got to say "kitty" as I

rolled for the cats initiative! good times.

Yeah, Dan!

Again, what advice do you have, borne by experience?

Congrats Steve and Other Dan!

I'm embarrassed that I haven't seen this thread yet. I've been extra busy this month with convention planning, scenario writing, 10-month-old son, and full time job projects.
Thank you for the congratulations, everyone. There are a lot of tips and suggestions for GMs out there - my biggest suggestion is to just get started. Many are reluctant to GM because they compare themselves to an experienced GM. Get started, don't be afraid to make a mistake, and learn as you go.
