Do rules for player run businesses exist?

Silver Crusade

In my upcoming campaign, I think eventually I want to give the players opportunities to own businesses in the city that the campaign will be taking place in. Are there rules for how to do something like that out there in the aether or are these somethings I'm gonna have to craft myself?

At the moment, Ultimate Campaign will be covering that come Spring. In the meantime, I'd check out some 3PP or look at the Profession skill.

Would the rules for running the Golden Goblin from Second Darkness be a good kludge?

In our campaign we use DM2 from 3.5 for running a business rules. Although the person who DMs my business's also has to DM my political runs also.

My DM for that character hates that book, because my Red Wizard went overboard with it and has over 40 businesses. She is also in the middle of a political career. I love those rules though saves me a lot of random adventure time to focus on my dream of world domination and lets me hire parties for my goals. Also lets us cross campaign a lot which I really enjoy.

Not surprising. It's awfully coincidental how many of the best roleplaying rules from 3.5 just happen to be written by you...

Its part of why PF has been so great.
