Technical questions about the rules for "Altars, Shrines, etc" regarding Desecrate and Consecrate

Rules Questions

The desecrate and Consecrate spells become more powerful if cast in the area of a desecrate or consecrate spell. Is there any rule, or statement by a paizo staff member about what exactly constitutes a "altar" or "shrine"? Mostly I'm asking because as a PC who is always on the go, things like temples, which would have these things aren't available most of the time, so i'm wondering if something small enough to be portable and set up with only an hour or so of work would still work?

1 person marked this as a favorite.

An altar is probably something you could get into a portable hole. Shrine, probably not so much.

But then that is the point. Semi permanent locations to worship instead of easy to move devices you plop down at your whimsy when it is of use to you.

Yeah thats kind of what i figured. How much do you think it would cost to have an artisan make a shrine like this, that i could carry around in a bag of holding or some such.

Portable altar :)

EDIT: The 's' should be 'items' It comes out looking okay in the text box :/

Thank you good sir, I did all manner of searches on the SRD about crafting and Shrines and stuf and never thought to look for a portable altar. Saved my day :-)
