Creatures that are size Tiny or smaller use their Dexterity modifier in place of their Strength modifier to determine their CMB.

Does the above only apply to naturally Tiny creatures, or creatures that change size as well? For example, if I'm a 1st level halfling wizard with a 5 Str and a 20 Dex, I have a -4 CMB (-1 size, -3 Str). If I become Tiny via a reduce person (+2 Dex, -2 Str), does my CMB become -6 (-2 size, -4 Str) or +4 (+6 Dex, -2 size)?

Well according to reduce person, it does actually change your size category so you should be good for that. Remember of course that you loose your reach so you won't likely be doing a lot with your slightly enhanced CMB.

I'm curious why your even bringing it up though?

Your CMB becomes +4. On a related note, your armor and shield bonuses (aside from magical enhancements) get halved. And you lose your 5 ft reach.

@ Morgen: Just combing through the CMB rules and making sure I fully understand some of the less commonly used portions.

@ StreamOfTheSky: I was aware of the lost reach, though I had missed the halving armor and shield bonus. Thank you for pointing that out.

I've a related question. Suppose you use a spell like Alter Self. It says that it is a polymorph affect. Does that mean that it changes your size category "for real" so the effects of the size category apply to you? Would it affect your movement speed?

Size does not have any effect on movement.
