Received the PDF.

Thanks Daron and Rielle!

What did you think of the feedback from here?

Definitely informative! It seems clear to me that short adventures / pre-generated encounter packs ought to be one of my next projects.

Received. I like it. Thanks!^^

Got mine! Thank you. I will comment or maybe even write review later.

Got the Rogue Talents PDF will Make a review this weekend when I get off work. Thanks for the freebie.

Got mine with the rangers and I like it! Has some interesting feats and minus the Firearms Combat style will be added to list of 3PP material for use in homegame.

I've got mine. Thanks!

Have mine as well! *gleefully sticks new feats all over enemy fighters*

Cool! If you like it, put a ri- err... consider buying one of the other Class Acts products. Start a collection.

At this point, everyone (save for maybe the last ten or so people to post a request) should have received their freebies. The rest of you will likely see your PDFs appearing in your "My Downloads" section this evening.

@ Orthos: Hurling Disarm and Improved Hurling Disarm make good feats for NPC baddies, since they aid the NPC in overcoming the economy-of-actions problem that most NPCs face. Disarm one PC and damage another - all with the same action. Then there's Splintering Sunder (if you want to be a diii... dipstick).

haven't received mine yet =/

I haven't had a chance to really look at my Class Act: Ranger pdf, but I received it.

Thanks! :)

Grollub: Your patience will pay off, I promise. There are a lot of people to send Class Acts out to. You will get your Class Acts: Witches soon!

@ Grollub: You ought to have received yours. I've just asked Liz to re-issue it. It's likely that she'll get to it today. If not - keep an eye on your "My Downloads" page on Monday.

Whoops, sorry, I thought you'd be done with the freebies already! I'll take the Class Acts: Witches.

Thanks!

I'd like to see new races. A balanced plant race, for example, would be awesome in my opinion. Alluria Publishing came out with the Oakling, but it's just too unbalanced. I'd love to see Abandoned Arts try their hand at it!

New base classes would also be awesome. :)

I'll take Class Act: Clerics please :)

Thanks!

I really want to thank you for this. I am always concerned that a product isn't up to par for balance or readability especially when I can't view it before buying. After receiving and looking over (I haven't read it in detail yet) the one for Rangers, I have to say that you most likely have a new customer. I'm a hard sell and you have grabbed my attention.

I'll keep an eye out for it.. and post either when I do, or Tuesday if I don't =D

If there's an open spot left, I'd like Class Acts: Rangers.

But for the more important question, and because I feel like putting in my 2 copper pieces tonight, I'd like to see more archetypes and class options. Some classes can always use more love (I'm looking at you, clerics) in that arena, while others just invite a never-ending parade of variety (fighters come to mind here).

BTW, this is a great idea and wonderful thing y'all are doing. Just so you know :)

So you accomplished your mission. I decided to buy the rest of your products. It's going to take me a little while to go through them all. I like to write reviews for the products I buy but between you and another company, I just picked up 20 items. It's going to take me a little while to get to them all.

My suggestion to anyone who is concerned about 3PP is to grab these offers when they open up. I used to be against using them for a wide variety of reasons but changed my mind after getting my hands on a free preview. I came to realize that I don't have to spend all my time creating new rules or fluff for my own games. Many of the products already do that and for a reasonable fee. The more we can encourage them to produce quality product, the more time we can spend on making our own games that much more enjoyable.

My suggestion for companies that produce these short PDFs would be to create a Hero Lab file to go along with it. Since that is the software supported by Paizo, it would be in everyone's best interest.

Thank you again. You have earned another customer.

I had bought two of the offered giveaways previously, and since receiving the free gift, I have added two more to my cart to purchase next month. I'm a big fan, and I appreciate the offer.

Liberty's Edge

I would like to see more options for Alchemist especially an option that trades out mutagen for something other than one of the Mutagen like options.

If you are still doing the giveaway I would like the Ranger.

@ Bob_Loblaw: You're terribly welcome. I hope you enjoy your new collection. Want to hear a funny story? I used to feel the same way about third party products. Until shortly before I got into the business, I did not allow 3pp products at my table - a way of thinking instilled in me by the wave of 3pp trash that followed 3.0 Dungeons & Dragons. Though there still is a lot of trash out there, we've seen some real giants (in terms of success and quality) rise to the top of the 3pp world. I count myself honored to be featured alongside SuperGenius, Purple Duck, Raging Swan, Dreamscarred Press, Fire Mountain, and the rest of the "big little guys" whenever Paizo showcases their 3pp brothers-and-sisters-in-arms on the Store Blog.

@ Gerald: Sweet deal - I'm glad you enjoyed your items!

@ graywulfe: I'm not sure exactly how many there are, but we do still have a few slots left. I'll have Rielle put you down for Class Acts: Rangers. With regards to the alchemist: Class Acts: Alchemists and Class Acts: Alchemist Archetypes are actually in the final stages of development right now! They'll be along later this month, along with Class Acts products for the gunslinger. : )

@ everyone: Ryan and Jason over at Know Direction have featured our very first product, Class Acts: Fighters, on their podcast for review. Check it out if you're a Know Direction fan (or an Abandoned Arts fan).

It wasn't just the quality, it was the quantity. There was so much to go through that it was hard to tell what was good and what wasn't. The system was still new and many of us didn't understand how the system was meant to work. I had so many people coming to the table with things I had never heard of that I had to start banning everything until I could figure out the basics. Now that I know what I'm looking for, it's much easier to sort through everything. The problem is that printing costs are to the point where many smaller publishers just aren't going to go that route so I can't thumb through the product before buying. With my time being limited to the point where creativity is stifled, I started looking at other publishers. I decided to splurge and buy a PDF from SSG and was impressed with the quality. Now I seek out other products from them. I have decided that I would rather pay someone a few bucks to do what I don't have the time to do. Since the PDFs are inexpensive, it's ok if one doesn't live up to my expectations. I think I'll have the same attitude toward your company as well.

If someone does enter these into Hero Lab, would you be interested in the files? During my downtime I like to fiddle with the program so my players have access to the new material.

I've actually just looked into Hero Lab (an amazing piece of software) and have been considering and evaluating the "how" of creating Abandoned Arts Hero Lab files.

I may get in touch with Hero Lab and see about making my items available through their site.

I have not yet received my Class Acts PDF on the Rogue. I'm patient, though.

The Paizo staff mentioned that there might have been some delays or missed items. I'll ask Liz to look into it.

This one is my fault, not Liz's. I'll have her get a copy out to you ASAP. Not sure if she'll get to it on Monday, but I'd say it's probable.

Thank you for the free PDF. Its very well made and has a few talents that will be making appearances in my games.

Liberty's Edge

Archetypes are always good for me : a way to make some stereotypical characters that I always wanted to play actually playable and competitive/interesting.

A very interesting option IMO, would be to built on the new (at least to me) Role concept which I first saw in Player Companion : Varisia. Suggestions for different ways (classes, feats, ...) to build a specific type of character, for example based on fiction heroes such as Tarzan (is he a Ranger, a Druid, a Barbarian, something else ? What about several different ways to build him ?) or King Arthur (a Cavalier, a Paladin, a Fighter ?).

If the offer is still available, I am quite interested in the Class Act : Ranger

Eleven spots left. If you haven't taken advantage of this freebee, do it! Participants are receiving their free Class Acts and loving them.

@Rielle: I'm still not seeing a new PDF on My Downloads yet... Am I looking in the wrong place or under the wrong publisher? :) (I'm post #165 up above...;p)

By what AA said, I think I'm set, but just making sure here...

I posted # 34 on the first page of the thread. Talked about lots of GMing stuff, and requested the Rogue PDF.

Sorry to be a bother!

Oceanshieldwolf, Loup Blanc, and everyone still waiting for their free Class Act:

You are doing nothing wrong! We put all the requests in when we could last week and over the weekend and the Paizo staff has to send them to everyone individually (there are 80+ requests). I assure you, you will have your free Class Act in your hands (computer)in no time (you should get it in the next few days). Thanks for your patience. : )

I always like pregenerated small keeps, villages, and places of interest. It makes populating your world so much easier. I cant count the number of times I've used the old Village of Hommlet map or the Harn Trollbridge crossing maps for villages in my campaigns.

If still available I would like the Class Acts: Clerics
Thank you.

Have not gotten mine yet.

RPG Superstar 2013 Top 8

Let me second Unklbuck's suggestion above. Maybe an elven village, a dwarven stronghold, and some other exotic towns (like in a swamp or on a cliff).

I'd like the cleric pdf.

Unklebuck and Wolfwaker: I just put your order in for Class Acts: Clerics. Thanks for the input.

Strongfox: So sorry, thanks for letting me know. I will let Daron know and he will check with Paizo staff to make sure it went out. Thanks for your patience.

Everyone: Nine spots left.

High-level NPC BBEGs with well-developed stats. But more importantly: tactics. Running higher-level NPCs can be hard for the GM because there's so many things to think about, so many attacks the PCs may try against which you need a defense to prevent one-shotting the BBEG - it's hard to overlook something important. So a BBEG needs stats and tactics that ensure he's not taken out by some cheap shot; he doesn't have to kill a PC every round, but he should last more than a few rounds. This includes tactics to overcome the action economy multiple PCs would have against a single BBEG.

Monster collections with a strong unifying theme. For example, all meso-american or east-asian themed monsters. While Paizo makes very attractive Bestiaries with a lot of diversity, if you want to run a very focused adventure, it can be nice to have a collection of monsters that all have the same theme. Themes could be cultural, or environmental (desert monsters), or type (plant monsters, aberrations from outer space).

Mounted options. Some classes have a built-in mount which increases in power with the PC's level. All other classes seem to be stuck with mounts that become increasingly likely to die to area attacks. Now I don't need the wizard's horse to be as good as the paladin's on the attack, but ways to keep it alive would be welcome. It also shouldn't take a massive feat/skill investment; this is another problem. At some point you decide that it would be nice to ride into battle (for mobility, mostly), but you don't have three feats and ten skill points on hand to become an awesome knight.

A druid-variant that doesn't Wildshape. While wildshape is cool, there's an open niche for a nature-priest (or even wizard) that's focused on lore and spellcasting rather than shapechanging and combat in animal forms.

On the other side: shapeshifting for non-druids with durations that go beyond minutes. I'm thinking about Alter Self variants that last long enough for deep infiltration/espionage purposes. When you read mythologies (norse, greek), the gods wander for days in the guise of mortals, seduce men and woman, and visit retribution on anyone who (not knowing who is guest is), shows himself as a bad host. That's what I'd like to be able to do as a PC. I know there's a Robe of Blending, but that kind of precludes bedroom purposes :P Anyway, shapeshifting might be into animal forms as well as humanoid forms; maybe that can be a choice which one to prioritize? I think this might be a prestige class that rogues with a bit of spellcasting can slip into.

Please put me down for Witches.

got it, thanks a ton )

@ Ascalaphus - Thanks for the contribution! A couple of your ideas are quite likely to manifest on our webstore in the near future - I've already got a couple of nifty themed monster products in the works. I have you down for a copy of Class Acts: Witches. Keep an eye on your My Downloads page over the course of the next day or so. I have a feeling that Liz might get to it today, but it could take 24 hours or so.

@ Grollub - You're welcome. : )

@ Everyone - Everyone who is not Ascalaphus should have their PDFs at this time. If you don't have yours, let Rielle know via this thread or a private message and we will make sure it gets to you.

If you enjoyed your product (or if you didn't), let us know. Write a review, or just pop into the thread to tell us what you thought. Thanks to everyone for the feedback so far. I know we have a few slots left, so if you're just now discovering the thread - chip in!

Thanks, everyone.
