Evil Inquisitor

Advice

Hi all,

Was thinking of making a LE 1/2 Orc Inquisitor of Zon Kuthon. I was thinking of giving him the Darkness domain and making him a stealth based melee/rouge/assassin type. The character concept is that he hunts down those who have strayed from the darkness or have broken their pacts with their shadowy master.

I've never rolled an Inquisitor before and I was looking for advice on feats, items, skills and spell selection. I've read the guide from the forums, but was looking for some additional advice.

This is for a home game and pretty much anything in the PRD is allowed but not the new Advanced Race Guide as the GM has yet to peruse it.

Thanks in advance for the advice!

Night Subdomain is better for this. Concealment and demoralize your foes. I would take the Smeller alternate racial trait. This will allow you to get the Scent of Fear feat, which will sync well with your ability to create darkness, and demoralize foe. Consider the Enforcer feat, maybe combined with the Improved Unarmed Strike feat, or a Merciful Spiked Chain.
If you choose to take the Improved Unarmed Strike feat, consider the Nightmare Fist, and Nightmare Weaver feats.

An advantage of the unarmed strike, is you can wield a Spiked Chain in two hands whilst using them.

I don't understand what you mean by this.

*edit*

OK I went and looked at the feats you mentioned and they've given me a lot of ideas, though focusing with so much based around unarmed strikes he becomes sort of "monky".

It's part of the Scent of Fear and Sow Terror feats. Lets you create creepy noises while unseen to unnerve your foes.

No, not everyone who headbutts or stomps his enemies is "monky".

James Bond fights with his fists, so does Conan, and both don't seem to have a "monk" feel.

OK but I still don't understand this:

Are you saying I can use a spiked chain and it will be treated as an unarmed strike in terms of feats being applicable to it? Where are those rules at? Can you please clarify your statement?

Grand Lodge

I mean, you can wield a Spiked Chain with two hands, and make unarmed strikes as well, because you do not need a free hand to make an unarmed strike.

Besides, the Pathfinder Spiked Chain kind of sucks compared to the 3.5 version.

If you want to focus on the Spiked Chain, then Cornugon Trip is the feat for you.

Yeah I hadn't intended for spiked chain to be his main weapon. I just picked Zon Kuthon for flavor and the Darkness (now Night) domain, not his weapon.

I also suggest the Heretic Inquisitor, as it has more stealthy capabilities.

Can I ask how you see a battle with your inquisitor playing out?

DO you sneak up on your prey, jump out and stab them?
Do you step around a corner, scream and frighten them, before you cut them down?
Do you simple walk up to them and split them in half?
Or do you shoot them in the back while they run away in terror?
Or do they never even know that you are there and then they just die?

I think answering these question will really help you pick your feats.
