So I have a question, someone mentioned you can just pull mods off of weapons? I can't seem to figure out how to do that on PS4.

As far as strong characters go, I did build mine specifically to hit really hard in melee. Big leagues + Moving target lets you pretty safely charge guys with miniguns. Feels awesome.

You replace it with the standard mod.

Yeah, while I love the modding system it annoys me that I can simply replace armor mods with nothing but I have to actually replace weapons mods with other mods or make a new one (F@!*ING SCREW SHORTAGE GRRRRRR) instead of simply breaking the weapon down.

...

SOMEONE MAKE A MOD FOR THIS PLEASE AND THANK YOU.

I just picked up a full suit of Raider Power Armor at the Roadside Pines Motel. It is near where you find one of the Eddie Winter's holotapes. ~grins~ Granted, it is raider power armor, but still.

Edit - Sadly, you do have to steal it. Why they did that, I will never know.

Silver Crusade

I've found two on train transports but the neatest one I think I've found is in the lake next to Covenant next to the downed Vertibird.

I have four suits of t45, two t60, and one raider. I found a partial t51, but haven't decided where to park it.

I've only used power armor twice. :P

I stuff them all in the Red Rocket Station, with about a dozen turrets to keep them company :3

Is it my character's lack of dialogue options (Cha of 1) or are there not really good/evil quest finishing options in this one?

Sovereign Court

Yes

Also I found torso, arms and helmet of X-01 power armor. It's in a small cottage near fort Strong.

Since there isn't a karma system anymore, good and evil are defined only by your choices. The approval of companions can track it somewhat, but it's not as clear cut.

This iteration of Fallout is much more morally gray than all the others. There is no an obvious good or evil in most situations and things that used to be not evil now feel evil with certain companions disapproval. A great example is haggling for extra money in dialog used to not be evil, and wouldn't affect your karma. But now it causes certain (good) companions to dislike you, and conversely others (more morally ambiguous companions) to like you.

TL;DR - Everything is gray

I just found a suit of power armor near Finch Farm. T-51 chest, and both arms. Of course a very nice BOS Paladin was willing to die to provide me with his armor. I did not kill him, but the Mr. Handy did.

I just found ANOTHER suit of (partial) power armor near Waltz Consumer Electronics. Just a frame, T-51 torso and arm. On the plus side, I have the other T-51 parts.

I just got all of Eddie Winter's tapes. This will be interesting to say the least.

So what is your favorite weapon so far? So far the Deliverer is my favorite followed by my 50 mm sniper rifle.

My favourite is Mercy. (My fully customized explosive 10mm)

The one I use the most, however, is the Monroe Doctrine, my fully modified combat rifle. I just made the jump to .308 with it.

I'm quite enjoying Midori as well, my plasma sniper rifle.

:( still can't play need new system thinking ps4.....but no money who has an extra one they want to give to a poor deserving soul?

My favorite weapon is "Heds Asplode!!" my .50 cal sniper rifle with long ported barrel, recoil compensating stock, large quick eject mag, long recon scope and 50% bonus damage against humans.

After that "Pewz Amaze!", my advanced combat shotgun with quick eject drum mag, long ported recoil compensating stock, shielded barrel, compensator and chance to stagger.

Though i recently found a plasma infused gauss rifle which i upgraded with a medium scope and named "Rail Gun! Choo! Choo!"

By the way, highly recommend this fix to stabilize framerate.

I found 2-9, and then 0, but then ran out of leads and can't find number 1. From what I can gather it involves Valentine somehow, but I never did Unlikely Valentine.

Interesting.

Not a glitch, just an annoying confluence of systems.
Spoilers

Spoiler:
The quest where you meet with a courser to retrieve a synth raider, a BoS strike team showed up. The Courser was essential due to the quest, but also such a bad shot and so weak that the battle between then took a half hour in real time. He would get knocked out, get up, chase the BoS back down, repeat.

He eventually shot down a vertibird, and finished off two brotherhood members, all with an institute rifle. Still, so much for the fearsome "people should run away" courser.

Silver Crusade

Well he did keep getting back up... so technically an unstoppable killing machine?

~looks around at the Red Rocket Power Armor Junk Yard TM~ 12 power armor frames with something on them and enough parts to make around 3 full suits of raider power armor and enough for at least 4 mixed suits of the other kinds. Plus I have at least 4 suits of power armor parked elsewhere.

I like to put companions and named NPCs in my extra power armor. Preston is in T-51 with the Minuteman paintjob. Piper is in my old fully upgraded T-45 with the flames paint.

The my version of The Castle feels like a Brotherhood fortress.

On the main quest:
The courser you encounter along the main questline isn't that much better either. After a short exchange he stealth boys and starts shooting and i take him down with 5 or 6 shotgun shells taking barely any damage.

Legendary Mythic Deathclaw vs Iron Fist.

In case you didn't know, their recommended player level is 90.

Apparently, this was accomplished with some console stat modifications as a parody more than a legitimate leveling.

Spoiler:
Mine went pretty similar, just add a grenade when he stealthed and hid in a corner. That's not a fair comparison though, my shotgun takes down deathclaw in three shots. :P

Just having reached the contact point with the Institute, I had some thoughts:

Spoiler:
Despite them trying very hard to present a bland, clean face, the Institute is evil. They claim to do what they do for the betterment of humanity, but they not only don't help humanity, instead they harm it. They have gotten to a point where they no longer see the surface dwellers as human. The now shuttered FEV lab is a prime example of this. Most likely the source of kidnappings over the years, even the lab's director requested to close it. FEV doesn't help anyone. The Institute, in it's usual fashion, chose unrestricted experimentation over reducing human suffering. "For the greater good" is an excuse that is being used to rationalize atrocities.

If they truly wanted to benefit anyone other than themselves, imagine what they could do. Synth guards keeping the commonwealth safe, crops modified to thrive in the harsh environment, real medical care to keep people healthy. They've had more than two centuries to prove they want to help, and they've spent them kidnapping, torturing, and needlessly killing humanity instead. They're nothing more than raiders with hygiene and tech.

Spoiler:
I agree. My second encounter with the Institute was when a synth was trying to replace a human. I talked it into lowering it's weapon when it said "I guess I will have to dig two graves now." Yep. Not good. And during my first encounter, I am sure that we both would have been willing to go with them. Instead they stole my character's child and killer her husband and all of the other vault dwellers. For no real reason.

Sovereign Court

Either my 6 crank fully boosted laser carabine or my .50cal hunting rifle.

I am still using the 10mm I got in the vault. It's just very heavily modified at this point. I'll have to name it.

YES!!! I just got a Penetrating Plasma Rifle!!! Now to head home and mod it up.

~grins~ Am I a bad person if I did not get upset if that BOS Paladin died right in front of me? I swear, he does not need his power armor any more.

I saw a Brotherhood strike team laying siege to a super mutant den. I was sniping distant targets to lend aid, but the Paladin didn't take out the suicider in time. I knew there was an empty frame nearby, so I made sure to honour her sacrifice by putting her armour back into service against the abominations. (Right after I fixed it up, seriously the suicider took every piece to 0... And I painted it with flames paint. :P)

This T-60 got the Shark pain job treatment. The next one will be Hot Pink!!! Once I find that Hot Rod magazine.

I really want to mod FO 4 to include the ability to armor weave my Vault 111 uniform so I can also wear combat armor over it. Yes, there are several mod that do that. I have just been too lazy to follow Gopher's modding advice.

Oh yes. I just dinged Level 50. SWEET!!! And I have yet to get to the Institute. Too busy saving the Minute Men's asses. ~grumble~ Preston is sooooo sneaky. Getting me to do his dirty work.

I was 42 when I went. I've been doing jobs for the Minutemen, Railroad, and BoS.

I kind of wish I hadn't bothered going.

~laughter~ I know how you feel. The only BOS quest that I have yet to do is the Quartermaster's steal the farm's food quest. ~sighs~ Hey BOS idiots!!! Offer them SOMETHING in return!!! You will get a lot more love from the people!!!

That one quest started to turn me off from the BOS. Extortion is a no no. Especially when it is uncalled for.

My Transmat Device is going on a platform at the Red Rocket base.

I stuck with the "kill all monsters" and "find this stuff" missions. Both were things I liked doing anyway.

I do gather technical documents though, easy money.

~hugs my tin can and broken lightbulb to my chest~ YES IT IS WORTH PICKING UP DEACON!!! YES IT IS!!!

'Splain yourself huggy one.

~Hisses at you~ Mine! My pretties! MINE!!! ALL MINE!!! You can';t have them!!!

I am doing some of Nick Valentine's cases right now. They are pretty fun.

Your daily reminder that One-Punch Man is the best, and you should read and/or watch it.

Just found heavy dog armor!

MeanDM wrote:

Does it have stats? Light and regular don't.

Don't you hate it when your friends fight with each other and you get caught in the middle?

Spoiler:
Since I'm not siding with the Institute, I face an identity crisis. Am I Agent Whisper, or am I Knight Valerie? Of course I'm both, but now I'm being told that I can only be one. Why can't I unite them on common ground. Both want to see the Institute dealt with.

It's frustrating because, while I like their goals, the Railroad is too small and too focused to help the vast majority of the Commonwealth. Meanwhile, the BoS has power and resources that will help the Commonwealth, even if only by clearing it of threats, but are too genocidal towards non-feral ghouls and free synths. Makes me wish I could formally challenge Maxon for leadership. Too bad the Courier isn't around to help me. :P
