Let's trade races!!! (Post Gen Con 2012)

Hey all.

So Gencon is over and as we all know some new race boons got given out.

Anyway i thought a Thread might be in order to see who wants what and what they will give away for it.

Yes there are a lot of other good boons but let's stay on races in this thread.

Also let's try to keep it simple.

It is worth pointing out that these can only be traded if they have not yet been assigned to a character #.

So they must be in the state that you got them.

Too bad there's no other way for us to trade race boons, but am happy that they opened up three of them from the Advanced Race Guide in 4.2.

Lordzum,

One of the boons at GenCon turns "your character can be from this race" into "your character takes this race as a chosen enemy". I have a spare copy, if you want to designate one of your PCs as particularly inimicable to tengu.

There is now a con boon that allows you to make use of Aasimars, tieflings, and tengu boons so they aren't "worthless." The boon is called Xenophobia for anyone interested.

Unless you got your Tengu boon on 8/16/12, it's not 'worthless'. It had a worth you chose not to use.

And yes, this is speaking as a guy who didn't settle on Dexios as the final form of my tiefling boon until a week before GenCon, and got to play him 'pre-boon' technically once.

Well ... let's see if this might work. I'm not certain what I want, but, I'm only passingly familiar with what all the race boons are, so ... I'm interested in the Ifrit that I have, but, it's not really strikin' me for RP stuff.

The Fetchling boons that I know of are tied to the players that got them, as they're boons applied to the high level characters that went through the Grand Convocation at the 12+ tier, that give you the ability to create a new Fetchling character.

I'm assuming the Vishkanya are the same.

While I admire the sentiment, and would love an Ifrit or another Dhampir, I have to question the logistics of an exchange. Especially for those of us North of the border. :(

Basically take a race boon, and instead of playing the race you get favored enemy bonuses against that race, which stack with favored enemy. The way it reads seems you can do multiple race boons with it as well, but not the same one more than once.

Actually, at a con I went to in July, all the GMs were awarded the Kitsune/Nagaji/Wayang boon, and someone was joking that the next time we were all together for a con, everyone would be playing kitsunes. That's a part of the reason I decided to use mine to make a nagaji instead. That and the fact that kitsune are so similar to halflings mechanically (same stat bonuses/penalties), and I already have two halfling PFS characters, so I wanted something mechanically different.

I like Wayangs... I even have a character concept if I end up getting one of those boons at a con.

As of right now, I don't have any race boons for trade, but if they're offered at PAX, that may change in a couple weeks.

Hey Eric, Actually I am really trying to get rid of all the Kitsune we have...

Who knew foxes could breed this fast?

In addition to getting 4 at gencon ourselves turns out 2 of our friends that were also there (how we did not see them is beyond me) both thought it would be nice to bring us back...... you guessed it, More Kitsune.

Thankfully most of them have found a home with people that appreciate them.

Now I just need one more Oread....
