Hopefully a few seats become available on Saturday night, because I just went to purchase an event ticket and there are none to be had. I'm a bit leery to buy general tickets...after all, what is the likelihood of someone buying a six dollar event ticket and then not even showing up for the game? Certainly those types exist, but I'd imagine the stand-in line will be much, much longer...

Yea, it was sold out within days of its original announcement.

It does happen that people don't show up after having bought tickets, I think for the special it's rare, but it can happen. I know that the HQ staff do their very best to seat everyone and including those holding generic tickets -- last year they added at least 6 (?) tables to the special to accommodate everyone that wanted to play.

I would defiantly show up with a generic ticket -- but show up early to be close to the front of the line to guarantee yourself a better spot

Yeah, what PFCBG said. If you want to get in with a generic, start lurking around the PFS room early :). It does pay off sometimes.

Saturday night is part 2 of the special, and you can't buy tickets for that.

However, I've never seen anyone turned away for only having generics. They may have to wait until last and get no say whatsoever in what table they sit at, but they DO get to play.

Did you mean definitely, rather than defiantly?

Defiantly might give a bad impression...

meh .. spell corrector sucks .. but yeah... what you said ;)

Thanks folks, that makes me feel a lot better. I can't attend until Saturday, so I'm not eligible to play the special that night since participation in the Friday special is a prerequisite. That said, I'm willing to play in any game on Saturday night.
