My wife and I managed to get into three PFS games, First Steps III, 3-23 and 3-EX (in that order, schedule-wise). We've made new characters and haven't played them at all yet - is this order of things going to make sense and be ok? Or do you have to do first steps 1 and 2 to do 3?
I thought I saw something about not having picked a Faction yet if you're doing First Steps, is that right?

Although playing First Steps in its entirety and in order is recommended, it's not mandatory at all. The only thing to remember is that once you hit 2nd level, you can't go back and play other parts of First Steps with the same characters - they're for first-level PCs only.
As for factions, as long as you're doing First Steps, you don't have to have one. But as soon as you sit down for something else, you have to have your faction picked.

The intro sessions just sold out really fast, III was all we could get (there's a 2 available, but it's on Sunday, after everything else).
It's good to hear that it's ok, though. Does Part 3 depend at all on info from 1 and 2? Will we need to get caught up by someone who has actually played them?
They're not dependent at all on each other & can be played in any order without having played the others. Numbering is for convenience only.

We'll probably have extra seats at all the First Steps tables. I doubt Mike didn't plan for some overflow.
I think the First Steps sell out so quickly because they're billed as Intro scenarios, for new players. Society has been growing like crazy and we still have a lot of new players coming in. Many players go to conventions like Gen Con to try out new things, so there's always a surge of new players at a convention.
Which is a large part of the reason we run events at conventions...
